I'm 37+4 today and last night I spent the night being sick and with a horrible headache :( my headache still hasn't gone today, but I haven't been sick again. I don't feel ill exactly, my head just hurts. Is this anything to be concerned about this late on, or does it sound pretty normal at this stage?? Thank you x

It could be that the vomiting has left you a little dehydrated and this is causing the headache? Try to up your fluids and see if this will help (paracetamol is also safe). Give the MW/Dr a call if you're still feeling yucky just to rule out anything more sinister.

Hope you're feeling better soon hun

Thank you so much, I will have a big glass of water, some paracetamol and a lie down and see if that helps x

I've had the "38 week headache" for 3 days now, it's awful. I never get them normally, but apparently it's normal at 38 weeks-ish? I've been drinking a glass of squash an hour and taking paracetamol. I've got no other symptoms but it really hurts so bad it's making me cry sometimes. I googled bad headache at 38 weeks and it came up with loads. Made me feel better. BUT if you get swelling or spots infront of your eyes then please see your GP/midwife. You know..usual spiel...

Oh dear, poor you! Obviously speak with your mw to rule out anything sinister. But as I am sure you are aware there is alot of bugs going around at the mo. My ds has had 2 omiting bugs in the last month, driving me nuts as my ms came back and I am vomiting at everything even slightly grim!

Vomiting and headaches can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. i'd go and get bp and urine checked just to rule it out.

I second this post, it was exactly what I was thinking as it is a concern if bp is high, headache is a typical issue - as well as vision issues/ hand/ face/ feet swelling. Best to get checked ASAP to be safe.

I happened to have a midwife appt the day after a bad headache and vomitting , my husband told her when she asked how I'd been, and sure enough despite not eating all day my blood pressure was high with protein in the urine. So I was sent in to triage and whilst I'm not classed as pre eclampsia this showed them I needed weekly monitoring, which I am still having. I wouldnt have gone in if I hadn't had that appointment, but glad I did. I assumed I had a straight forward migraine.

I don't want to bother anyone, I seem to ring my midwife on a daily basis, I'm seeing her Thursday anyway, should I wait until my appointment or ring up tomorrow if my headache is no better?? Thank you for the replies x

I'd say don't wait, even if u have a nurses line that you can call? Best to be safe, or run to a pharmacy to check bp.... That way at least u can confirm if it's high or normal.
Pre-E can be very dangerous and if left untreated and out of control - there can be really bad side effects... Someone on here a while back ended up having a seizure from it (which is RARE) but still possible.... Not to scare u, just to look out for ur well-being. Hope it calms soon.
