Ok so I know this is gonna sound like a really daft question, but 'm gonna ask it anyway!

the mw told me to always wake Abbie for her feeds on time during the day as it will regulate her night feeds.... but i feel really bad doing it! Is it a bad idea to leave her when she's happy enough snoozing?

we never woke Hannah for any of her feeds, especially at that age. Their stomachs are so small and they can only take so much in at a time, which is why most babies eat little and often

Abbie usually takes about 4oz every 4 hrs.... and sometimes snoozes a little longer than the 4 hrs. Hubby reminded me over the weekend that we should be waking her according to MWs and I wasn't sure if i was doing the right thing leaving her or if i should be following the advice we were given

Thanks for the reply :hugs:

We don't wake LeeAnne for feeds...she will wake and let us know when she is hungry! She goes anywhere from 4-5 hrs sleeping before wanting anything to eat.

that sounds pretty much spot on for her age :)

My LO is 6wks and takes 4oz every 4ish hrs. I only ever wake her for her last feed at midnight then she sleeps through till 0700-0730. She might go over the four hrs during the day but never misses a feed. x

I feed Elyse on demand. When she wants, how much she wants. I can't force her to eat when she's not hungry & I can't force her to take more than she wants/needs at any given time :)

Right now she eats every 2-4 hours and will usually take anywhere between 2.5-4oz; if she feeds at 9am and takes 3oz, she may want another 2.5 at 11:30am, etc.

you are all confirming what my gut told me, so thank you! :) :finger: to the MWs that told me otherwise

I don't wake Lexie up for feed's, and never have. I used to feed her on demand when she was newborn. But she soon got into a routine and has her feeds every 4hours everyday. It's usually almost dot on.

We were waking for feeds 4 hourly but now, she wakes up before that. Also if she goes to the 4 hour mark we try to wake but she wont have any of it lol so we leave her to it. Won't let her go much more than 4 hours but its rare that occurs now.

I never woke up max for his bottle ! I hate being woken up so I wouldnt do it for him hahaha

At that age he drank 4-5 oz every 4 hrs

thanks for the reassurance everyone! :) You've mostly just confirmed what i though myself. moral of this story? go with my gut! :)

Yup thats what us moms do ..go with our gut (but still ask on bnb ) :)

i tried waking zane for his feeds once he started on bottles but i got fed up of waking him so i left him to sleep and fed him when he woke up and he settled into sleepin at night fine

I've never woken Tiffany for feeds. I wouldn't dare for fear of crying for hours if I woke her! Haha x

For the first few weeks I used to wake Seren up for feeds, inc at night time... My MW told me that to make sure that she doesn't go longer than 4hrs without a feed so I just went by that... gradually stopped doing it though.

babies go 4 hours between feeds........ lucky people! fatty is a 2 hour feeder tops... dont think it goes to 4 hours between feeds..... if only, but i wouldnt wake her unless its getin near 6hours... unless im asleep...
