Want #2 but no period =(

My daughter will be 7 months and I am exclusively pumping about 5 times per day. I pump at 11:30pm and then not until 6:30am. I tried to sleep through the night in hopes of getting my period back but 2 months later and still no period.

I hope to continue breastfeeding for another 2 months but I really would like to get my period back for peace of mind. I have heard sometimes whenn getting your period back, your first few cycles you may not ovulate so I would like to have everything back on track so we can try for baby #2 in the summer or fall.

Any insight or advice would be awesome!! Thank you!!!

HI. I breastfed dd1 until 26 months. I got my period back 11 months after birth. I got pregnant three times whilst breastfeeding.
Lots of my friends didn't get af until nearly a year after birth.
I hope this is reassuring but it does mean a few months more wait.

With my first, I didn't get it back until after a year. I conceived my son when my daughter was about 20 months old and I think my period had only been regular for a few months at that point. My son is almost a year and I have not had my period. I think I have ovulated multiple times though. I think that because of the fluctuations in my milk supply. It's possible I was having hormonal fluctuations for other reasons though.

You may still be ovulating even if you are not menstruating. Have you tried tracking your cycle with strips or BBT?

I conceived my second whilst feeding my first at 18 months. I had my first period at 13 months. I have conceived my third after my first period at 13 months despite still feeding in tandem and night feeding my second. I have heard of people conceiving even before they get their period back. After 6 months (and even before) breastfeeding is not a barrier to pregnancy x Good luck xxx
