I went back to work full time a few weeks ago. Things aren't pretty. I'd like to go part time. Any tips on what to put in my request to make it more likely to be successful?

For them it'll be a business decision. Try and explain how the work will be getting done, e.g. suggesting job share etc... to make it easier for them. Good luck

Does your employer have a flexible working policy? There may be a specific form you need to complete. But yes the main considerations will be impact on the business and those are the only fair reasons they can give to refuse. If you think it doesn't have much chance of success maybe suggest a trial period where you can then prove it can work?

I work in HR so feel free to PM me if I can help :)

As another HR bod here, I would also suggest if you are going to put a request in for part time, make a business case such as who will cover the other work, how much (or not) its going to cost them, how it will/wont impact on the job and what you will do to mitigate. It may seem like a pain, but the more you have solutions to all the possible blocks right away, it will leave them less space to wriggle out of it and use the catch all 'business reasons'.
