Wanting to visit ireland...help please

So me and some of my girl mates are wanting to visit ireland, but like a nice little village with traditional pubs and maybe some live music etc. I've had a Google and there are obviously plenty there but can anybody give a first hand recommendation of some? We will be coming from England so any hints or tips for travel too would be appreciated as it isn't as easy as I expected to just jump on a flight over. Thanks in advance x

Dublin. I haven't been in years but OH and friends have been this year and love it ... I usually visit Northern Ireland but plan to step into Dublin next year. They have a few villages and I can't suggest one specifically.
