the police are so scared to do anything incase they get done for being too rough or violent that they will just let it escalate and escalate. it's gonna end up here in sheffield if its not nipped in the bud.

youve got tazers, rubber bullets etc for a reason. theyre not fatal!

unfortunately i fear the backlash of the "racism" card being pulled if the police use force is at the forefront of all the decision-makers minds and thats why little is being done... pisses me right off. You're not being tasered, shot at with rubber bullets and hit with batons because you're not white, it's because you're a scumbag di*khead attacking others and ruining others' livelihoods.. fairs fair where racism lies and it should never be tolerated, this isn't one such occasion! And nor was thursday if the guy had a gun and was shot - don't care if he's white, black, or multicoloured, don't carry a gun, don't risk dying for being a prat.. very simple.

i really dont understand where all this has come from! it seems like one mans death and the controversy over it has got everyone jumping on the bandwagon and using him as an excuse to go on the rob?? as far as i can see? they are mindless thugs, i mean what message are you trying to send by smashing mcdonalds window?? its not political is it!! all i know is the majority of ppl living down there including my brother, best friends and all of you guys are innocent and dont deserve this. it makes me really angry. they shud be strung up. and what about their parents, most of them are teenagers apparently so there must be some parental responsibility there..

Yeah its just looting in Brum hun. They've set some places on fire in town but it's moving to the other areas and rumours of spreading to my area too

my boyfriends shop got closed at 3.30 today saying that something was going to kick off there one shop has been smashed in,i just hope that this will stop soon i say get in the army!

Surely in circrumstances like this a huge carpet bomb of tear gas would be ok?!

In N. Ireland they use water cannons and plastic bullets (not that i condone plastic bullets, people have died as a result of these). They can't use tear gas though as it spreads through the air and innocent civilians could be affected (though I don't think you'd find an innocent civilian anywhere near riots in my opinion lol)
