my comment wasnt made to everyone on benefits. it was to thse that have never worked and never will cause the governement give them too much!
it wasnt aimed at real job seekers, or those who are actually disabled, or those who have been made redundant or stay at home mums.

it was for those who have sauntered through life just picking up anything they can get their hands on without doing anything to get it. ever. it's those people, those families - the children of those families that are causing the trouble, not those that have seen their parents working and have some understanding of what makes a country run effeciently.

its not the lack of jobs, its not that the parents dont know where their kids are, they know exactly where they are, theyre watching them nick stuff on the news. they just dont give a toss.

they have probabaly been sent out by their parents to do the looting cause theyre too young to be convicted for it. we have a nantion of familes that dont care, and why should they - we will just say its lack of jobs and pump more money into their pockets - they win everytime!

It's shocking... Can't believe what i'm seeing this morning. Where are the parents letting their teenagers out on the rampage like this? It makes me so.sad and worried for our country that there are so many who just don't give a sh*t about what they are doing, who are getting a kick out of it and are targeting normal hard working businesses and destroying communities, scaring ordinary people - what do they think they are achieving. I'm beginning to think they should just send in the army to put a complete stop to it as the police don't seem to be able to...

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at this. Not sure if you're being serious or not.

How the hell can ones parent stop something like this happening? It's the off springs decision, and because it has spread so wide, everybody is acting as a sheep because they know they can get away with it. Nobody gives a living shit. At this moment in time, nor do the police. Really shows how useful they are, standing there with shields expecting people to back off. Out of control.

These riots have nothing to do with cuts, just another excuse to be anti-social degenerates. It's what Britain is.

Watching sky news live and can't believe that I'm seeing. Large fires lit in ealing, enfield, Croydon, woolwich and wood ford green.
They're talking to a girl whose shop was looted and had her house burnt down. It took her 20 mins to get through to the police.

Yes, I'm sure the media will be full of it because of "the Tory cuts/racist police/bored youth/public sector unemployment/hot weather" etc etc. The press are always making excuses for this section of the Britian and it has to stop. The blame lies with them and they are criminals. Called them what they are; criminals.

These kids have grown up under a labour government though and see how they've turned out. I'm far from being a Tory but they've been left with a huge mess to clear up after the previous government have brought the UK almost to ruins.

IMO the police are too scared to use any force against these scummy people, as in this day and age, and in our country which is too soft on criminals, if one of these looters gets hurt by being pushed/hit by a police officer, they will sue, and most likely win. This country is on its arse, the police are suffering job cuts left right and centre and then something like this happens, they are forced to work 12 hour shifts to try and contain this violence, but are too terrified to use force incase they end up losing their job or being hauled into court for it!

This is nothing to do with protesting about someone getting shot, this is all about mindless thugs running wild and smashing their way into shops to get a free TV because they know there arent enough police to stop them all!

I heard on the news it has also started in Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol, so it wont be long before Manchester kicks off too I dont think.

Bring in the army, anyone who is innocent and not causing touble wont be wandering around in the middle of this rioting, so anyone caught up in the backlash from the police will only be the ones creating the trouble and who cares if they get hurt?! If they are old enough to be out in the middle of the night, smashing up shops and throwing petrol bombs at police, they are old enough to get blasted with some rubber bullets!!!

Well said! If these thugs who have infiltrated our country hadn't had such a bloody easy time under the labour government - plenty of money lining the pockets, lenient sentences for their CRIMES etc. then we wouldn't be in this mess now.

Saw a comment on bbc website asking what outrage there would be if the police had hurt someone when they used the armoured police cars to move the crowds... I don't think there's many who care one bit whether these animals get hurt in the process of stopping this criminality. They need to be rounded up, named and shamed and punished, properly! None of this bullsh*t punishment we've been handing out the past few years of a month here or there in prison which they see as a trophy sentence. Get them working, hard, cleaning up the mess they've created. And any benefits they've been in receipt of stopped, put them in a work house and make them WORK - I'm fed up of paying out in taxes for these thugs and disgusting animals whilst hard working parents can't even take their full entitlement to leave when they have a family because they earn within a threshold which means they don't get any help - yet these scrounging animals are left to feed off our country and its hard working people.

Send in the army with force and if they get hurt so be it. If you want to carry a gun, as I said before, expect to be punished for doing so - there is after all, only one reason for carrying one in the UK! and if you want to go out and riot, expect to be hurt and punished for doing so.. I just think it's a shame we can't round up a big enough mob to attack the animals ourselves - low life scum.

speaking from a nation who history is plagued by this sort of behaviour, bringing in the army is just a temp solution, neighbourhoods need to be brought together and the internal politics resolved. people will always jump on the band wagon of riots and looting, but when they are being made accountable by the people they are distrupting rather than the police and armed forces, they tend to sit up and take notice, community officers and cross relationship building are the only things that calm things down .........35 years of lessons learnt over here could be useful and in the meantime, get the water cannons out!

Absolutely spot on!!! They are responisble enough to go out, covering their faces with scarves, terrorising inncocent people, stealing from empty shops... but as soon as they are caught, they lay the blame on everyone and anything else!

The Army is making cuts because the budget wont stretch to cover their wage??? Why not round up these wasters and make THEM go out to Afghanistan, unpaid, to fight for their country and let our troops come home to be with their families......better this than to send them to prison for a month, or give them a suspended sentance... they wont ever learn from that!
