Hi there,
I'm also 37, 38 in December and TTC #1. My cycle has been regular for as long as I can remember, 27 or 28 days for years. Then 2 months ago I had a strange cycle where I had pre-AF spotting (the day before) which I've NEVER had. Usually AF just starts off slowly and as the day goes on gets stronger. This was definite spotting. Then AF started 2 days early which made it a 25 day cycle. Don't think I've ever had such a short cycle before. It was then that I decided to try traditional Chinese medicine bcos a friend could recommend someone great. I decided that rather than waiting to see if there are any problems, I'd get a head start on making my eggs super!! And The lady I've been seeing specialises in fertility.

The next cycle was 33 days long! I was freaking out! I was imagining menopause & all sorts of negative stuff. But my Chinese medicine lady told me not to flip out that sometimes things just get out of whack. And she said we would work on getting things back to normal.

So now in my current cycle I'm pretty sure I Ov bang on cd15- which means I should get my AF when I would normally expect it. I was sooooo excited!! You'd think that I'd gotten a BFP : )

Long story short, our bodies play games with us sometimes. I've started doing OPKS & charting so that I can kind of be certain that I'm Ov each month. I've also been and had a heap of blood tests today to check if things are as they should be. Its good ur planning to see ur GP. ask for some preliminary testing. Once your over 35 it's good to get things checks after 6 months off unsuccessful TTC anyway.

Hope my ramblings help ; )

My cycles have always been pretty regular. If yours are jumping all over the place and that is new for you, I would make an appointment with your doctor. Better to find out straight away if there is a problem.
Are you breast feeding or recently stopped? I wonder if that could be a cause.

Hey babybear

I experienced this...I am 39 now so when I noticed it was worried it meant my cycles were going pre-menopausal or something. My holistic therapist reassured me it's actually a good thing - it's the body responding to the affect of everything you're doing to get pregnant - i.e. your mind set, unprotected sex, etc etc. I wasn't convinced but then some time after I got my BFP (after not having ovulated the month before, which had really worried me) so hang on in there...your body is just getting itself ready.

Good luck and baby dust to you.

:)xx
