4 days ago I decided that enough was enough and Kaya had to be weaned (she was on 1 feed a day but it was really hurting me) So she hasn't nursed since then. Neither of us were happy about it but there wasn't much choice. Anyway, my left breast has dried up but my right still has some, and this morning Kaya ambushed me and latched herself on - and there was no pain! I'm now torn, should I make that the last ever feed or should I let her do it again?

If you enjoy it then go for it hun. Most of my family bf til 2ys :)

If you're not in pain I'd let her do it again! I'm still so upset that I'm not feeding Sam any more :( x

I might need to hide it from OH though lol. He wasn't impressed when he saw me.

 I don't think my OH would be if I started again now either, as he was impressed that Sam had stopped so easily! x

He thinks that it's time to wean and pointed out that she'd just gone 4 days without it so she obviously doesn't need it.

Do what you feel is best, although if its going to cause stress with you and your oh maybe its time to stop? You will have a new LO to feed soon :D Its totally up to you though, you did great going that long!

I really believe in self weaning, unless you are feeling like you are really done and just don't like doing it anymore, which doesn't really sound like is the case? I personally would let her keep going if she wanted it, which she obviously does to want to again today. Your OH is right, she probably doesn't NEED it righ now, it's more for comfort but it's also still really good for her, better than regular milk so even if she's only nursing once a day or once every couple of days, it's still good for her. Good luck

I agree with mommyof3co about self-weaning. I'm not sure I could have stopped Sam if he still wanted to feed x

Thanks girls. I think I'll keep putting her off when we're still in bed, but if she insists once we're up then let her. I think OH is a bit unhappy with the thought of tandem feeding tbh.

Because of her age or because of the extra stress it could cause you if you have a baby who's feeding all the time? She'll probably hardly be feeding at all by then anyway x
