Is it reccomended to wash all the clothes before LO will be wearing them?
Obv i'm going to wash the blankets, sheets etc. But do all the clothes need to be washed too?
My mom said she did with me, but my auntie didn't with my cousin.

the only thing i'm planning on washing is my cloth nappies as recommended to get the absorbancy levels up, i might wash all his clothes at the same time though to get them nice and soft for him :flower:

i think ill be stalking this, as ive been wondering this myself! im not even gonna bother asking my own mum as she just likes to witter on about everything else BUT what ive asked her haha :)xx

:haha::haha: sounds alot like my mom!

I did but it just became a pain buying new clothes and having to wash them  A baby won't really be in them long at all before they get washed anyway so I haven't washed anything we've bought since he was born.. x

I'm in the middle of washing all of LO's clothes :) My family recommended I do so.

We've washed everything second hand or hand me
downs to freshen them up.. I've washed all blankets, sheets and towels but all clothes which were bought new we haven't.. Mainly because he has so many clothes he may not wear them all and were resell with the labels on. I think it's personal preference but agree about cloth nappies will be doing them this week x

I washed everything with my first child, it makes everything softer and gets any remaining chemicals off of them.

I washed pretty much everything before my daughter and I will again with this baby I just like it to smell fresh but you don't have to. I would suggest you at least wash any 2nd hand stuff.

PS make sure you use non-bio.

I went ahead and washed all my LOs clothes! Just because I know that I hate wearing new clothes if they haven't been washed yet.. I figured he prob wont like it either! Plus I'm scared to many people touched them in the store!!

If i brought clothes in a sale then i washed them, otherwise the new stuff on hangers or in packets i wont be washing them :)

I washed everything down to socks. Its recommended due to chemicals and germs and such that can be on the clothing.

I washed everything up to 0-3 size. When he gets into 3-6 I will wash them, but atm they just collect dust. Anything new I buy him, I wash first. I don't know if it's been a returned item or what happened in the factory and i don't want to irritate his skin. :) I would recommend it.

I didn't see the point in it... but thts because I don't get eczema so didn't think not washing them all would be a problem. now I've come to find he gets really bad eczema with clothes that either haven't been washed or have been washed with fabric conditioner :( my poor baba's back was red raw by the time I realised...

from my own experience id recommend washing them just to be safe :flower: but you don't have to

My mum told me to wash all the clothes even if they are new because then they smell like you and home but also for the second hand ones obviously it gives them a good clean before you use them x

Thanks girls.
Started washing alot of them today & OH's mom has took loads to her house to wash (:

i only washed clothes i got from my nephew...all his new ones i never washed and he has been fine =]

I have washed everything that will be touching babies skin and toys, new or used. I don't feel its safe to put baby in clothes that hundreds of people could have touched and to get the dyes/ chemicals out. Their immune system is just so little when their born and I don't wanna take any chances :/ I am also sterilizing all her bottles/ soothers or teethers, but thats just me (: I want to be extra careful as I won't be having another baby and I worry a lot :P
