I am 39+3 and yesterday at 7am I started to leak fluid, I went up to the hospital at 1pm and they confirmed waters had definitley broken.
My cervix however is still cone shaped and not effaced at all!

They sent me home to start natural labour before 48 hours later, had some mild period type cramp last night but nothing else, still leaking small amounts of fluid now tinged pink.
I assume this is a mix of show mucus blood and amniotic fluid.

I'm going in tomorrow morning to be induced if nothing happens before then today/tonight.

Anyone else out there in same boat?

I'm a little anxious about been induced, I've 'heard' it causes labour contractions to be more intense..

Yeah im in the same boat..
Im 40 weeks 5 days overdue though.
Going in tomorrow for 9am.
Unless i get really painfull contractions before then.

Have yu ladies tried to induce naturally?

No my midwife told me yesterday my body wasnt ready for labour.
Then this morning my waters broke and got a sore back and a few contractions but nothing majorly painfull yet just a lot of pressure down there.

i have heard that pineapple juice, spicy food etc can help bring baby on. Not sure if it works with broken waters but worth a try if you are allowed?

Hey ladies, just popping over from 2nd tri hehe

Nothing really works like that to induce labour just lots of walking and wiggling your hips tp put pressure on your cervix. If you have a birthing ball defo get on that lol. I wish you all the best tho xx

So it is possible for your waters to go when you arent favourable??? Hmmmmm who knew

I would try and get contractions started if I was you, on youtube search for pressure points and try that, it only ever brought on braxton hicks for me in my last pregnancy however my waters hadnt gone so its worth a try! Nipple stimulation does the same job but not everyone wants to sit with their boob out playing with their nipple

GOOD LUCK to you both :happydance:

I would but im thinking the birthing ball might have helped brake my waters...
Im too scared to try bringing on contractions.

i lived on my birthing ball last time with my son it just helps bring head down into position and relieves any backache. contractions are better startin naturally ( as in not in hosp ) so squattin is good, u may feel like a sumo hehe but its gd lol

Im not quite sure what broke my waters then cos like i say i went to get a sweep yesterday from the midwife but she said she couldnt do one as my cervix wasnt favourable but maybe her fiddling about down there did something.
This is my first baby so im a little confused as to what a proper contraction is.
I get the constant back pain and sharp pain round the front.
