He looks great, god bless.
How was the birthing experience? I have opted for ELCS too so very curious about it.
Thank you all
It was weird but good hun. The worst part for me was when they were putting the spinal in.. but thats due to the fact im a big lady so how i had to hunch over hurt and my legs were shaking like nothing on earth but the anesthetist was great and got the spinal in first time. It took around 10 minutes to go completely numb... they ran a cold gel up my body to see what i could feel. I was numb from boobs down. They started before i even realized it lol. My husband was beside me from the moment i was laid down.
When they were cutting etc it just felt like baby was having a rave in there lol, same when they were pulling him out. They dropped the drape so i could see him be born.. and they stepped him out slowly instead of just pulling him out. Once he was out they lifted him up for me to see and dh got a photo. Then they put the drape back up and after 2 mins they cut the cord. he was brought round for me to see then midwife took him and dh to the corner of the room to clean him up and cut the cord. He was then brought back to my head and she asked if i wanted cuddles but i said no as i felt sick.
I went quite funny during the op.. i felt really hot and sick but they gave me an injection and it passed quickly. I felt A LOT of pressure when they were getting the placenta out and then stitching me up. DH was taken through to recovery with baby when they were ready to move me off the operating table. I was then taken through to recovery for an hour and a half.
All in all it was a brilliant experience

I did have a major bout of sickness/sweating once i was back on the ward and filled 4 sick bowls but after another injection and some sleep i was all good

At 5pm i was up on my feet for the first time while the midwife got me some fresh knickers and pads on. Then by 7am the next day i was up by myself and in the shower, needed no help at all from the midwives including at night time. And i was discharged at 10am this morning almost exactly 48 hours later
I highly recommend that you get moving asap after surgery, just things like moving your legs, wiggling your toes and ankles then bending your knees. Its really hard to begin with but it gets easier quite quickly. Today i even went a 30 minute walk (usually only takes 10/15 mins) to pick little one up from nursery.. had a 20 min sit down while staff cooed over him then came back again and i feel good. The only Really Really sore thing on me is the top of my back but i think thats due to spending the last 2 days sitting/sleeping upright.
All in all it was a brilliant experience!
