Anyone watch Talking Dead tonight? One of the costume designers has a very interesting name.
"Eulyn".
They mentioned that her accent is South African.

What do you think?

I couldn't find anything about the meaning of the name though.

I don't know anything about the meaning, but it sounds pretty! I like that it's unusual yet people would know how to pronounce it.

Eulyn
Eulyn is ranked #28244 for the most popular names in the world.
The gender distribution of people named Eulyn is 75% girls and 25% boys.

Meaning and Origin of Eulyn

Eulyn is a common first name that comes from the Greek εὐγενής (eugenēs), "noble", literally "well-born", from εὖ (eu), "well" and γένος (genos), "race, stock, kin". Gene is a common shortened form. The masculine variant is Eugen Male foreign-language variants include: = Pope Eugene I, pope from 655 to 657 Pope Eugene II, pope from 824 to 827 Pope Eugene III, pope from 1145 to 1153 Pope Eugene IV, pope from 1431 to 1447 Charles-Joseph-Eugene de Mazenod (1782–1861), the founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate St

I think it sounds pretty. As a PP said, it's also easy to pronounce.

I don't know what the meaning is, but I wonder if it may have originally come from Welsh? Just a guess. Sometimes names and their spellings get changed. Or it could be a modern name and have been made up or put together from two different names perhaps?

Although the first part, Eu, looks Greek, the 'lyn' doesn't. 'Eu' just means well or good. I don't think Eulyn came from Eugene, as that doesn't make any sense. Eugene and Eugenie (female version) are names in their own right, and it's only the final part of those that gives the 'well-born' or 'noble' meaning. There are a number of 'Eu' names like Eunice, but I'm pretty sure Eulyn doesn't come from that either. I believe it's a name in its own right.

I also think it looks nice written down
