We love our name choice but...

We love our name chose if we have a little boy but my mum keeps being really nasty about it and I've had enough!! We've chosen Morgan if we have a boy and my mum keeps saying urgh! and really nasty stuff like they will be associated with a "morg" where dead people go and I keep saying no he will be named MORGAN not MORG!... its really getting to me!
She keeps saying other names, and keeps calling my bump the names SHE likes which I've told her numerous times I don't like and she keeps saying I just hope the baby is a girl.
Gurrrr!!!!

What can I do about this? I know now, we should of kept bub's name a secret until he/she is born but its too late now.

I think you should go paint the name Morgan on the nursery wall and announce to her that you have decided to call YOUR baby morgan even if its a girl haha

Nah seriously DO NOT change the name just because your mum dont like it - its tough luck really coz its YOUR baby and by the way Morgan is a lovely name and no way would i have ever thought of Morg - she must have thought pretty hard to come up with that lol

Saying he would be called Morg is mad !

I knew a girl called Heidi and her mum brought her up to ignore people when they called her Hide lol

so you could get him to ignore the name Morg if for some reason someone did think of it.

morgan is a lovely name (my maiden name ) me and oh actually considered it for archies first name and the worst nn we could come up with was moggy which i used to get called from time to time and i didnt find offensive in the slightest. ignore her

I'm sorry your mum is being so negative and rude. Please don't change away from the name just because she doesn't like it. She will get used to it once your little one is here.

I think Morgan's a really nice name. It might have made my list for a little boy, except that it's our surname!

My daughter's best friend is called Morgan. They are both 2 and he is very sweet. His mum has started calling him Morgs and my daughter calls him Morgi, so you may end up with a similar nickname, but even if you say Morg, you associate it with a cute little boy not a Morgue or however you spell it. I actually never even thought of that association until seeing it here!

Morgan is a lovely name for both a girl and boy and you should stick with it!

I think Morgan is a loverly name for boy or girl, plus I think no matter what the baby is , tell your mom his/her name is Morgan and then refer to him/her as Morg just to annoy her lol\.

im pretty sure no one liked DS2's name when we told them ( we didnt tell anyone till after the birth) i could tell by the look on their faces but now they seem to have grown to like it and deffo love him it's your choice do not let anyone else put you off , DS1 almost had Morgan as his middle name but it got changed at the last minute its a great name imo.

Thank you so much girlies, shes been over again this afternoon and had another dig about saying she'll call the baby something else and not Morgan when its in her company made me really upset!
atm she makes my blood boil!
