we settled on a name but now I changed my mind....OH doesnt agree!!!

Right...so basically, we settled on Mikayla Pearl Farenden when we found out we was having a girl...although I wasnt keen...I didn't argue as I thought I'd get used to it...

I was talking to my mum and older brother last night and we started talking about names...and when my brother came up with Chloe-Jessica...it just felt right... and I said it to my OH. He stormed off in a sulk, telling me he don't give a crap and i'll do what I like.

I told him I was never 100% on Mikayla and Chloe-Jessica just clicked!!

How do I get him to see things from my point of view??

We're still keeping his last name and 2nd middle name that he choose (Pearl after his nan) so I only think its fair if I have a choice?

I have to admit, I prefer Chloe-Jessica to Mikayla.. but as for getting your OH to come around to it, I have no idea me & my OH took months to agree on names, and I didn't get any of my first choices, they were his.. so i'm probably not the best person to give advice on this lol just stick to your guns xx

dave didnt like the name mason when i named my son but thats the name i thought o and it worked. so i stuck to it. said he could pick the middle name. he just sulked until he got used it now he couldnt picture our son any different name. besides both my kids are named after him some how so he cant really complain

I picked both of my girls names and he got to pick the middle names. We both had really different styles.
Couldn't you maybe comprimise with maybe Chloe Mikayla Pearl or something?

It took us a while to decided on a name but in the end we managed to come to an agreement. We both wanted Daisy it was the middle names that caused a problem. Just talk through things and I am sure you will decide.

It took me and OH ages to come up with our name, we had the boys one picked straight away, it was after my Grandfather so he knew it meant alot to me.

When it came to girls names we were both stumped! The name we picked he wasn't keen on at first, but when we realised we couldn't pick another name he has now come around to it.

I personally prefer Chloe too. You'll just have to talk about it and see what you agree on. I liked Nathan for a boy but we couldn't agree, so when we agreed on Jake it stuck and now I can't see him being named anything else...

Me and my OH agree on names he has always said I do the work making the baby I should have the right to pick the first name, especially if the baby gets his last name, so I don't exactly what your going through...but.. My advice is compromise, let him know your feelings and accept his feelings. You both will think of something. Good Luck

I couldn't imagine calling my daughter by a name i wasn't in love with. Try and find some middle ground...we did, OH wanted Raphael for a boy but i didn't like it then when we found out the sex i decided i liked it better for a girl anyways so he got the name he liked just on a girl rather than boy ..xx
