Hi everyone! I have twin 8 month old girls and I need your advice, because I'm pretty sure I'm doing this all wrong. Sigh.
So, the girls have been weaning since 7 months. They only "eat" at dinner time (the rest of the day they drink bottles). We've done rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, and squash. I offer oatmeal (about 2 TBSP) at almost every dinner, as they typically only eat a few bites of the vegetables I've offered before they start refusing to eat anymore (though they do seem to like the squash!). We try each veggie at least 10 times (10 days in a row, as much as they'll eat each time).
Am I doing this right? Am I moving too slow? The girls sit upright on their own and are doing great in their high chairs. They are very interested in anything we're eating or drinking, so I know they have an interest in food. I just worry that I need to move things along, but I'm not sure how to do so since my husband and I both work full time. I don't want to stunt my girls! Similarly, I don't want to jump the gun and risk giving them foods that will make them choke or that they're simply not ready to digest (we had a scary incident with a puff that supposedly 'melts in your mouth'--not quite).
Thank you for any advice!
