Weaning and menstrual cycles?

Does weaning affect your cycle? I've had normal periods since 9 mos pp I weaned my dd last month as she turned one. I've been completely done BF'ing for a month and my period hasn't shown up. Basically no way I could be pregnant but I'm 3 days late. I took a test to humor myself and it's definitely negative. Any thoughts?

I have had 2 random cycles were I was 4 days late since he reduced breast feeds. Rest were all 26 day cycles.
