Weaning off breastfeeding

I always said I wanted to do 6 months of EBF, and then I'd introduce some formula. I'm not going to stop bf straight away, I will combi feed for a bit. I'm looking for advice on the best way to do this. She will need to be on formula during the day for nursery by June, I imagine I'll probably aim to just have her solely ff by then, or the odd breastfeed in the morning or during the night if my supply stays around, but not too worried if that doesn't work. How have others made the transition? Did you mix breast milk & formula to begin with so they get used to the taste, or did you just swap boob to a bottle straight up? Also how do I cope with my boobs whilst doing this, do I pump just a little bit to ease them from being engorged and eventually it'll stop producing or? Thanks in advance
