Hello Ladies,

My twins are 2 years old and still LOVE their bottles! What can I do to wean them from it?
Thank you!

I would just switch to another cup they are happy to use (for example, something they already use for water or other drinks). At 2, they don't need loads of milk each day, so I wouldn't be too worried if their milk consumption goes down if they initially refuse the new cups. They'll be getting plenty of nutrients, including dairy, from other sources, so it shouldn't matter too much. We found initially that straw cups worked the best. We use the Moma straw cups, which have a spill proof straw that seals and holds the milk in the straw even if they aren't sucking out of it, so they are easier to use, especially for things like bedtime when a sippy cup might not work. We had a few false starts, but then my daughter happily used the straw cups instead. So I would just make a plan and stick to it. They will get used to it with a little bit of time.

Have a look at the 360 degree cups. My son is the same as my daughter - loves the bottle! We tried several cups but the 360 degree is brilliant. It's also so easy to clean unlike some of the other non spill sippy cups. We use the cup during the day but still a bottle at night as he's only 15 months but getting rid of the bottle soon. my dd still had a bottle at 27 months and only stopped when we got her the 360 degree cup too x

We've only gotten rid of the bottle since my LG turned two, it was more habit/ routine as she often didn't finish the milk.

I tried to introduce a cup from about 18 months, i have bought pretty much every cup but she'd just play with it then ask for the bottle. Finally one day it just clicked and she stopped asking I've no idea why she must just have finally been ready. I did try letting her pick a cup at the shop, buying themed ones etc but was always more successful when I didn't make a fuss and just handed the cup to her as if it was normal. In the end with our basic free flow cup

I have to say though don't get too worked up about it, as long as they're not sucking it all night it shouldn't damage their teeth and if it is giving them comfort that's not an awful thing

I would put liquids they like more in sippy cup like juice/ milk etc and start only putting water in bottle
