Wearing black to a wedding?

I think it's more about not looking like you're dressed for a funeral. Black with another colour is fine imo. The dress looks gorgeous in the pic.

My bridesmaids actually work some black. They had pillar box red prom dresses that had black netting sticking out below the skirt hem. So we accessoried with black organza scarves and black shoes. They looked gorgeous. The best (wo)man wore a black evening dress which I loved the idea of, best man was hubby's sister.

That is a nice dress. I think it is okay to wear an all-black dress to the evening do of a wedding, but it would not be okay to wear to the daytime ceremony. Just something about it, you know?

I'd deffo wear that to a wedding, id personally wear a plain black dress too, the only colours I couldn't wear would be white/cream and I try to stay away from bridesmaid colours if I know them!

I always wear black to weddings. The only colours I avoid are cream, white and ivory.

I think the dress is lovely. I must say though I wore a black dress with colourful butterflies on to DH's friend's wedding and it dawned on me halfway through the day that I was literally the only person in anything close to black and I started to get paranoid I was getting funny looks. It was probably just in my head though. It was the only dress I had with easy access for pumping during day as I was still BF'ing and LO wasn't invited.

I think if you know the bride and groom well and ask them then it will be fine. I went to another wedding a few months back and there was someone dressed up as a blue character from Avatar.

Oh something reminded me, my bridesmaids wore black dresses too! My wedding colors were royal blue, black, and silver....so there was black at my wedding. It was also an evening wedding.

That's a lovely dress. The cut really suits your figure too. It's absolutely fine for a wedding.

I wore an all black wrap dess to a wedding once, it never even crossed my mind that I couldnt tbh. I was 35 weeks pregnant though, it was so hot that the Tarmac melted under my heels, so if anyone had given me looks or said anything then they probably would of got a hormonal rant I wore pink accessories though to add colour.
