wedding present

So I've never actually been to a wedding, but my friend is getting married soon.

I don't know about these things... so how much is a normal amount to spend on the wedding present? She's quite a good friend.

I usually spend around $50 for good friends and close relatives. Those I am not all that close with I bring it down to around $25, mainly because it's a more generic present. I get things that are a bit more personal the better I know you.
