Hey girlies, are you having the speeches before or after the meal?

Thanks for your opinions!

we want to have our before the meal so that after everyone has finished eating, we can get on with the celebrations!

We had ours before the meal, because then we werent too nervous to eat! lol xx

Im having none, we're having thank yous and handing out presents to the bridesmaids/bestman/ushers/mums and thats it

I don't think we're having any either. OH is quite a shy person and doesn't like being the centre of attention so I doubt we're having any xx

before the meal, I can't be bothered trying to do it once people have had a drink!

We did it before the meal and before the best man found the open bar LOL, it also meant my OH could enjoy his meal as he is really shy, so it was a big thing for him xxx

we are having after the meal but our wedding is quite informal so we arent going over board. lol. SO will make a speech and my dad, then the best man and then me, i knw its not usual for the bride to make a speech but i deffo want to :)

I write poetry as a hobby and have been published yrs ago so i may write a poem too x

Before the meal for sure...keeps em short and sweet and people arent drowsy because they've just eaten a meal and drank a bunch of wine.

Less chance of any of the speeches going off topic as the guys will (hopefully) not have had as much to drink as they will after the meal!

I am still in two minds, I really like the idea of them before but my family are quite traditional and think it's strange!

Thanks for all your advice xx
