Hi guys. This week has been terrible. We have had issues with our neighbours for 9 months, Loud banging music, waking our kids up etc.....So as we decided to start complaining to the council, enviro health all of a sudden I have had nasty rumours about affairs and that my baby i am carrying is not my hubbys, which he does not believe for one second. All we wanted was for them to keep the music down on weekend etc...so we could sleep and now I am the most hated girl going. Then yesterday the hubby and the guy got into a fight and they took in my hubby! No charges or even cautions though as the fight was a joint thing. But now they reckon they are going to use this to try to get us kicked out!!

It has made me very sad and just hard to feel upbeat about the events that are coming in the next few months. I was so looking forward to our new baby and our life and now I just feel depressed.

I don't know how to pick myself up again.

so sorry you are going through this, it sounds like you have a neighboro from hell. I hope everything settles down and you don't get kicked out.

Aww hun. No advice I am afraid but it must be hell :( I really hope that they can't use this against you, THEY should be the ones worried about being kicked out if they are the perpetrators!

know what you're going through, luckilly ours didn't go that far, we blasted some very...well death metal back to them and then my OH politely asked them to turn it down, they've rarely done it since, its the missus (rottweiler) who does the blasting, but they continuously bang all the time and argue, spilling out onto the streets, its awful - it doesnt make you feel good knowing those are your neighbours, but keep on with the council, are they willing to talk to resolve? sometimes a 'chat' if civilised can sort more things out rather than force...especially when it isn't sprung onto them! GL x

We had some huge problems with some neighbours as well; the mother was lying to the police saying that I was threatening their oldest child who is a screamer; we had to put up a bamboo screen on top of our fence to block out their children looking into our home(they would stand on their swingset)/ put film on windows, etc., but fed up, I went to speak to the police myself and asked to speak to the garda in charge; we went in and I had organised my thoughts on a card, along with my detailed log. I came across as reasoned and clear, and the police went to speak to the family again the following day; we also had video evidence of the rocks being thrown at my cats (sitting on the inside window sill, so marks on our windows), etc., and faced with the evidence, the neighbours not only backed down, but apologised. The police ultimately 'cautioned' them and told them that the next time they made any allegations, the entire file would be handed over the police ombudsman office to deal with nuisance, malicious behaviour.

So, go and speak to somebody in charge -- be reasonable, organised and clear -- try not to lose your temper and explain that you are pregnant, etc., and if needed, a tear or two, but they had no right to harass/threaten you.

best wishes

ps. the children didn't like it when I put leonard cohen on the cd player when I was out in my garden and would go inside and close the door....

Jeeze most of the time people respond politely to a simple, "Hey man I know it's a friday night, but my boyfriend has to go to work at six and you're keeping us both up." To get into a fistfight over it what are these people on drugs? Hope it gets better.

Keep up with the council hunny... And call the police when they're making too much noise. I'm not sure where you live, but in Australia the police respond really well to noise complaints, and to people arguing lol... There used to be some people on the street who would fight all the time, the police would always be called and 9 times out of 10 the wife would be taken away in the police wagon to "calm down".

Do you know if they own their house or if their renting?

I know how you feel... Currently sat in bed listening to a blazing row in the back street behind our house -.- I'm getting to boiling point now too, but I'm scared to do anything about it in case it causes problems. So I really feel for you hun :hugs: hope everything works out in your favour

XxX

Neighbors are the worst! We live in a duplex/townhouse with a noisy neighbor. Between her playing loud music, her husband home on leave from the military and throwing a party, plus her loud great dane barking all the time, I'd love to move. :( Sorry you're going through all of that though. Sure makes pregnancy harder. :)
