Weeks indicator not progressing

Hi ladies

I am 5 weeks today from my LMP. I took a Clearblue and it still says I'm 1-2 weeks which I thought it would have increased now to 2-3 although I did only take it 2 days ago. I shouldn't have taken it as now I am really worried and the cheapies aren't getting dark either and they are supposedly 10miu. Yesterday's afternoon test was darker than this mornings.

I am not sure when I O'd could have been anywhere between day 16 and day 22 I suppose. It's day 36 now.

Help. .

Heya, try not to worry too much about those. If you google a bit you will find that they are known to be unreliable.

Also, do not go by your LMP given that you ovulated late! Urine hcg also is not indicative of your blood hcg, and
A. Is about 1.5 times lower then in your blood
B. takes probably 2 days longer to be at the same level as your blood hcg...IF your body processes the hcg correctly into your urine, your urine is not too diluted etc etc

If I remember correctly, from what I looked up as i was in a similar Situation, the thresholds are:
25-200iu : 1-2 weeks
201-2599: 2-3 weeks
2600+: 3+ weeks


if you still feel worried, try to get a blood hcg.
Also, keep in mind that the tests are based on average hcg 'cutoff' levels, which don't apply to everyone and can still result in healthy pregnancies (as much as high hcg level pregnancies can end in a miscarriage. My m/mc pregnancy levels were superhigh, at 5 weeks my blood levels were 7 weeks)

Oh, and in case you still have your previous '1-2': whilst it is not recommended to do so, break it open and compare the lines to the latest one. If you see progression, that's a good sign as your hcg is increasing, just not triggering the next level indication.

I did that same and since the lines were progressing, I was a bit less worried about what the monitor said.

Keep in mind that depending on your actual ovulation date, you might, possibly, only be14dpo

I think I do see some progression, but...this is the low sensitive strip, and the control line. At this stage, what you would be looking for is the high sensitivity strip (the single line on the other strip) to become as dark as the current control line. This, plus a light to medium line on the low sensitivity strip (your current light line), will trigger the 2-3 reading. When all 3 lines are the same darkness, this will trigger the 3+.

On page 6 this leaflet explains the meaning of each line, maybe that is clearer than my try to explain, lol:

Do you test with FMU? As I never get decent lines. Second morning urine, or later in the afternoon between 4 and 6 pm, works much better (you might want to try that out with some cheapie though, rather than the Clearblue ones).

That is so interesting!! I'll upload a picture of the other strip lines too... I also find that afternoon or evening urine gives me darker lines rather than FMU. I won't be buying another Clearblue they stress me out! I have a midwife appt on Thursday and she is taking bloods so hopefully if I ask my HCG that should ease my worry.

I am sure that if you would test today or tomorrow you would get the 2-3. But if you can get your midwife to do a beta, even better!!!

Your bottom test actually already looks like a 2-3 looking at the lines: high sensitive line and control line being the same color with the low resolution line starting to show.

Your amazing information has really settled my mind!!! Thank you so much! I have an appt on Thursday so ill be asking my HCG levels which I am sure will ease my mind. Period type cramps and no dark dark lines are worrying.. why do we continue to test and do this to ourselves?

Looks like a good strong line to me I am not sure ICs are supposed to get darker, I mean in a test-line-sucks-up-all-the-dye kind of way that FRERs or maybe others do.
I had some good experience with other no name brands from the pharmacy to see progression, but I must admit I am no longer testing as those really darker as the control line results don't really happen on all brands, so it would only freak me out

I agree! ! I might treat myself to a Clearblue tomorrow and if the weeks have progressed I am NOT testing anymore and will throw my cheapies out!

Yippie.... Yesterday we got a 2-3! Feeling much more relaxed about it...

I opened it again to show you the lines. Top 4 strips are from the previous two 1-2 weeks CBD and the bottom 2 above the digi itself are the ones from inside the 2-3 digi

Once the bottom left like is also dark like the others, it will be 3+.... trying in a few days
