Weight Gain

as of this morning, iv gained 6lbs ....

dont know how that happened though as yesterday it was only 4.5lb!

I have gained about a stone, I'm hoping that will slow down now, I wasn't overweight pre-pregnancy but I am quite small, I'm worried I will gain even more! but I do have a big baby belly! seeing the midwife on Thursday so I think she will measure me, we will see if the growth is ok!

Im 19 weeks and have gained just over half a stone - most of that is in my butt ! and bump ! Just got on the scales and gave a large "WHAT" !! I was slimish (not skinny) to start with and havent been eating that badly - really missing shellfish as thats mainly what I lived off but after that weigh in its a major eating re-think ! and back down the gym !

14lbs as of today. I started off a few pounds underweight hoping to gain around 30lbs!

Lol - I have no idea how much weight I've put on this pregnancy, as I would obsess over the pounds too! I put on 70 in my last pg, and managed to lose it all after two years! I don't think I've put on anywhere as much this time, as everyone tells me I look the same in the face etc, and have a small bump, which annoys me!

I lost 14 pounds in 1st tri - and have put 10 of those back on in the last 4 weeks.
Worried that I am gaining on average 2lbs a week at the mo, instead of the 1lb they say I should...
Bubs is slightly above average growth wise following my scan last week.

I do have a bump.
So scared that I won't lose it after the bubs is born - as I have had weight problems my whole life. eeek.

I am so upset! I step on the scale today, and notice another 2 lb .. overall so far I gained around 17 lb!!!
I must admit that I haven't been very health in the first 2 month, but the moment the MS stopped I have been eating healthy. I don't understand it, as yesterday I was on scales as well, and was 2 lb less and all I had was 2 salads yesterday and a nice soup with some bread....
I am going to and up so huge! I don't see all this weight.. I have a nice sized bump, and huge boobs (I jumped from B cup to D cup), but no extra fat anywhere else (still wearing the same size jeans...)... what is wrong with me???

I havent gained anything so far though I dont see how thats possibly cause my regular pants are TIGHT. So I think maybe my weight has shifted ;) This is our first baby and pregnancy. I was starting to worry cause thinking no way have I not gained anything and im eating alot more than I did before pregnancy and not going go gym but to only walk so idk. Doc told me yesterday though that it is nothing to worry about and though most people need to have gained a certain amount by now im okay cause baby is well developed and actually BIGGER than he is suppose to be! she said it would only be a problem if baby was small.

Im 5'9 and 174lbs, 15lbs "overweight" (No one thought I looked over weight maybe they are just nice :) ) so I just think that 15lbs over my weight is the cushioning for me not gaining anything now. Just hope I dont BLOW up!

(Btw im orginally from Arkansas! Fayetteville...)

Awesome! I live in Springdale! I see you are in Germany now??

Don't worry hun! Remember going tinkle and #2 can fluctuate our weight by a couple lbs! You have probably gained about a lb in each boob as well! My first go round with my son I was gaining weight like crazy and ended up gaining 40 lbs total and he weighed 9lbs 10oz!!!!

I still have lots of family there. I live in Germany because my husband is the army and this is where we got stationed! Was in Colorado before this...who knows where we will be after here!

ive gained about 15lbs and its the first time in my life i can get on the scales and not stress over putting on weight x

I started at 116lbs (I'm short). Am 24 weeks tomorrow and have gained about 19lbs so far. I was worried about it at first, and tried to eat really carefully, but it didn't seem to make a bit of difference. My doctor is happy with my weight gain so far, and I'm working to realize that my body is just going to do what it wants to do... I shouldn't fret about it... I should just eat good, healthy food when I feel hungry and call it a day.

Unlike the earlier poster who didn't know where her weight was going, I can see just where mine is going... I'm up 2 pants sizes thanks to bigger bum and thighs, and my bump is quite big and very low, so it makes my hips very big around. I'm sure with BFing and taking care of a newborn it will melt away in 6 months or so.

Lol... I could be in denial :haha:

I am sure it will all stay in my belly even after the birth and the BF... :dohh:

Your avatar is ADORABLE! I love how clear your little one's profile is!

I have gained around 5lbs. So i now weigh 13st 7lb eeekkk!!!

Ive gained 20, which my DR is FREAKING OUT about. I hate every single appointment I go to. First, I quit smoking, which helps you gain a little weight, second I quit my job, 3rd we moved and had to eat out almost for 2 full weeks straight, 4th first tri I was sleeping 15+ hours and last- Im pregnant, geez!

Everyone I know has gained 30-40lbs in their pregnancy, except one gained 60 with her first. If I gain 40lbs total, I dont see what the big deal is. I'm on track now, gaining slightly less than 1lb a week.

I'm sorry your Dr. is being so harsh CourtCourt. :hugs: I feel really lucky that my Dr. is pretty mellow about weight, cause I already fret enough about it without having my trusted expert scolding me.

OT - I read something by Dr. Brewer (who I hadn't heard of, but apparently used to be a big baby doctor guru) from the 1960s the other day. He was talking about how doctors had been pressuring women to gain as little weight as possible while PG and how that attitude needed to change because it made women obsess about an arbitrary number (weight) when they should just be focusing on relaxing, eating healthy, and taking care of themselves.

I couldn't believe here it is almost 50 years later and so little has changed! :dohh: Doctors still put way too much focus on PG ladies' weight IMO!

First tri I lost roughly 15lbs as I was so sick. I've only put 3lbs back on so far so it still leaves me at roughly -12lbs but I'm anxious to see what i've gained since my last appointment. We will find out on Monday. :haha:

My last dr's appointment my nurse said "oh you've gained 3lbs!" and I said, "That's not that much is it?" (Considering I lost 15 first tri!!!) and her response was "well, I guess not depending on how you look at it."

I wanted to say...lady, (or another nasty word;)) 3lbs is wonderful!" I'm sure I've put on a few more since my last visit though. I've been keeping all of my food down now.
