I found out June 30th that my baby had stopped growing at 5weeks 6days and I should have been 9 weeks 1 day. I took cytotec that evening (Monday) but didn't really start heavy bleeding until Thursday. I had basically stopped bleeding and few days later passed the sac, so basically none of my experience seems to be the norm!! I had neg preg test July 19th so I started using opk the following week to try and figure out what my body was doing... This has been so confusing! It will get semi dark then next day be basically non-existent then back to the into between. Yesterday there was no line so I tried again today to see if maybe I had ovulated but its back to being like a medium shade!! Anyone else experience this? I just want to know when my AF will be here! Has anyone not ovulated between miscarriage and the first period following?

Hi Bianca76f, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. :(

I know I've read several places that it can take up to 8 weeks for AF to come back after a MC and that some owmen will not ovulate before the next AF, so it might just be that you won't ovulate. I hope AF comes soon!

Thanks kategirl,

I've been reading tons on the Internet and couldn't really find much and every woman seems to be different so hopefully AF comes soon! I'm thinking in next week or 2 hopefully? I have an appt on the 22nd for a consultation, not quite sure what they are going to do seeing this is my first miscarriage. I had a chemical preg end of February and they seemed to just brush that off and said it doesn't count, which really made me ticked off! Just want to get this over with and feel "normal" and happy again :nope:

It's not unusual to get a near positive opk after a miscarriage, I think it's picking up some leftover pregnancy hormones and also felt like my body tried to ov about 3 weeks after the mc. But through temping I could determine I wasn't ovulating (the pee sticks and their on/off lines drove me crazy!)

With my first MC (at 7 weeks) AF arrived 27 days later and I ovulated (and conceived) the first normal cycle. With this second one (at 9 weeks), AF arrived 27 days later.

NorthStar, it's driving me nuts! Did you get AF 27 days after 1st day of miscarriage or after bleeding had stopped? I feel so lost in the dark with this whole thing. My doctor wasn't much help unfortunately.

I've been shocked by how little useful info the medical profession give for this whole process

For both miscarriages, AF arrived 27 days after I first started bleeding (so if you count CD1 as first day of bleeding in MC AF cmae on CD28).

But in the days between finishing bleeding from MC and AF, I got near positive opks in surges during that time, along with some OV cramps and watery CM, like my body tried but didn't quite get there.

I'm going to advise you to step away from the pee sticks too, I think the hormones are in flux and it doesn't help to get the confusing signs. Wine helps tremendously :haha:

Are you TTC straight away or TTA for a cycle or two?

Yeah I agree, I'm done using them! They are just making me more upset about the situation. My doctor told me to wait one cycle, she didn't seem too concerned about anything which I don't know if that's a good/ or bad thing.

A nice glass of wine or two sounds like a great idea right about now hehe!

Have a nice big glass and once you're ready for AF get on some nice white underwear haha.
