The past couple of days, I have noticed this weird sensation in my right breast. I want to call it stinging...but it isn't painful like stinging is. It doesn't happen when she's feeding and it isn't uncomfortable during that time, either. It usually happens after the feeding when my breasts are filling back up. What is this? Other than this sensation, breastfeeding is going great. I don't have any nipple pain and she has a great latch. At first I thought it was thrush...but now I am unsure as I don't have any other symptoms and Valerie doesn't have any symptoms. I did some reading and heard it was common to have a sensation like this when your milk ducts are filling back up, but how do I know it is that and not thrush?

If it was thrush, you'd see other symptoms. I have this kind of pain too. Interestingly, not when I was nursing my son, but it started months after he was weaned and continues now that I am pg. My mw calls it "phantom pain" of the ducts filling and said I will probably feel it now when I nurse this one. I'd say not to worry.

I also get this but when it's cold it does get painful :shy:

I used to get that when it was cold! It felt like my milk was forming little icicles inside my breasts :laugh2:

So glad it's summer now...it was really painful! x
