What age can you start using a doorway bouncer?

Is it as soon as their head control is good, or do you have to wait a certain time until their legs and feet are stronger? My LO is already pretty strong on her legs (obviously she's not standing properly, but when we hold her up she's taking her whole weight). I've seen them in the shops, and they don't seem to have an age restriction on them

As soon as the head control is good, but Ethan is 6.5 months and still can't touch the floor in our Lindam one!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another couple of weeks should do it!

Thanks :) I have been looking now, but I don't think she'll be using it until at least 5 months or so. Her head control is pretty good, but she still lolls about, and if she were to bounce at the same time I know it would be a bad idea!

My lo was in hers at 3months, she loves it when we first put her in it she just stood there looking at us then a big grin came on her face as she swung around on her own. They are great fun

we put max in his a couple if weeks ago, he's just turned 3 months now so he was about 2 1/2 months at the time, he was fine, and had a great time!

he sometimes has a bit of a wobbly head too but because the fabric gives lots of support for their back he was able to hold his head up really well :)

11 weeks, Lo had great head control pretty much from birth though XX

Mandy, do you have the Lindam one? I saw it in Mothercare but on the box it looked like the body of it was too padded out for Gib weather. Chloe is finding the heat so hard to deal with and I don't want to lumber her with more layers. Is the Lindam one quite light for Max, considering the heat?

yes it is the lindam one, we were given it (i wasnt going to bother getting one) it is quite padded but we try and keep the living room as cool as poss, we dont have AC but lots of fans all over the place and windows open, and max is usually just in a nappy at home so he didnt get too hot plus i dont think he was in it for more than 15 mins :)

if you want, you could borrow ours to see how your LO likes it before buying one?

I'm scared to put LO back in his. He moves around too much in it now and last week, walked into the door frame and got a bruise on his head :/

Think he might be too old for it now..

Ethan isn't short so what am I doing wrong? Are my doors higher!!! Clearly there is a problem!!!

have you tried legnthening the adjustable strap? if youve got the lindam one, its a yellow strap just above the blue plastic spacer.. if thats as long as it will go then i can only think maybe your doors are higher than most? ours are about 7 ft...

Yeah the thing to adjust the strap is right at the top so it won't lower any more! What the heck!!! lol Maybe he has a long body and short legs/!? lol

Lachlan went in his for the first time a few weeks ago. His head control is fine and he takes the weight on his legs, but it's just a case of them being able to push off and bounce...and that...well, he doesn't have the hang of that just yet  x

Right I have to take a picture! I'm doing something wrong!!!
