Hi everyone,

Firstly, sorry for your losses. I mc naturally on Friday at 10.5w (although had been having scans and baby stopped growing at 6w).

I had a natural mc many many years ago and have since been lucky enough to have a DS, who is two tomorrow.

I don't feel like our family is compete quite yet and am really desperate for a sibling for our son.

Can I ask what everyone is doing to prepare to TTC after a loss? How long are you waiting? Are you taking any supplements or changing your diet any?

I really don't think Ive got the strength to can go through a mc again so I'm hoping to reduce the risks as much as possible for when I do TTC again x

I so sorry for you loss :(
I didn't wait I have had two one in January at 5 weeks and one in June at 7 weeks both were complete natural (no D&C or pills) so my doctor said we could try again right away.
The only thing I'm taking is Folic acid, evening primrose oil (good for CM production) and vitamin D3, my doctor said to take baby asprin as soon as I get a positive HPT since that is suppose to help prevent miscarriages.
I will say one thing that the loss didn't hit me until a 6 weeks later when my best friend told be she was pregnant with the same due date that I would have had and that hit me probably harder then the loss itself for some reason so give yourself time to grieve.

sorry for your losses its not easy not at all. Right now im currently two weeks post D&C I found out at 8wks4days my baby stopped growing at 7wks3days. I have not stopped taking my prenatal pills and I am also on metformin 500mg due to me having PCOS. I am waiting for my cycle to come and then the following month I will continue with my back to back iui's. im praying the next one sticks it was my first time ever getting pregnant.

Not sure what our game plan is yet. We have a meeting with our RE oct 8th which will put us around 7 weeks post lost. I have a follow up check up with my OB on Wednesday as well. I hope between both of those appointments to be able to know when we can try again and the game plan for trying as well. We got pregnant from femara and timed intercourse, I have PCOS. Since our loss was a fluke and from triploidy it shouldn't happen again I'm not sure our game plan will need to change but we will see. I'll also probably start up on metformin again soon too.

I'm waiting until after AF to try following my ectopic. I'm going to do exactly what I did when I conceived my daughter, take folic acid and baby aspirin. Plus try to eat healthily (most the time!), not drink too much and go to the gym. Got a holiday booked too so hopefully a bit of relaxation will help...if possible with a 2 year old!

X

Thanks for all your replies! Interesting that a number of us have PCOS. My ovaries are not particularly cystic but I do have lots of the other aspects (weight, poor insulin, excess hair etc) X

Hi MrsMac and all you other lovely ladies xxx sorry to hear about ur losses.

I lost my LO last Thursday at 10.5 weeks after seeing a hb - I am taking prenatal, omega 3, vitamin b6, vitamin d, baby aspirin and coq10. I am 50 / 50 trying to decide what to do now. Do I try to capitalize on any possibility of higher fertility after mc? Or do I wait and get 3 months worth of coq 10 into me? (With this last pg it was the farthest I have gotten in 2 years and was taking high dose coq10 for 30 days). It's hard to know what to do as I really want to avoid seeing another hb and then it is gone.

Baby dust to us all xxx

what does baby asprin help with i had never heard of that before

Apparently it increases blood flow to the uterus and can help implantation and avoid cloating that 'could' lead to a miscarriage. Doctors are very 50/50 as to recommending it, I'm self medicating, obviously not recommended! X

Hi there, I am really sorry for your loss as well. I lost my baby at 9.5 weeks and like you after weeks of u/s I finally had my D&C last week. Right now, I've turned my focus to eating right and continuing my work out regimen.

I gained a few pounds while pregnant and was a few pounds heavier that I wanted when I got pregnant. So while I heal emotionally and physically - I am working on getting in shape.

I do not see my ob again until about 3 weeks so I am not on any supplements or anything. The only instructions I was given was to wait until after a regular cycle before trying again. So I plan to try again at that time. I am still spotting from the surgery now, so I hope it clears up soon so at least I can...you know :-)!

It is so hard just waiting to see what your body does, which is what I was doing prior to the surgery. I am just trying to take control again. One day, one prayer and one miracle is all I ask..

I am sorry for your lost. It's been nearly a week since my D&C and it was my first pregnancy as well. I am taking my prenatal too. It is a good idea to stick with them since you will be trying again.

Good luck sweetie and hang in there.

I'm taking Asprin and getting the higher dose folic acid. Other than that not much- I'm a healthy weight, don't smoke etc so I'm not sure what else I can do.
If my resukts come back as anything to do with blood clotting then I'll be getting clexane next time x
