This is an ongoing dilemma of mine, maggie has been in long sleeve vest, baby gro or pjs and 2.5 tog sleeping bag or gro bag with legs (awsome invention) room temp is 21 falling to 18 in morn
my friend said today that is way too much and her little girl is just in baby gro and that's it!! With room temp of 20 deg

Thing is maggie wakes up with cold arms and legs bit now I'm thinking maybe I wrap her up too much? She has been waking a lot recently

What are your LO's in tonight??

gosht the boys would boil in that but each baby is different - if she has been waking up is she damp on her neck or sweaty? try less layers and see if it helps.

The boys are in PJs and a 1 tog sleeping bag tonight at 20 degrees - I toyed with leaving the bottoms off too though

Molly's room is kept at a constant 20degrees and wears a vest and cotton pjs. She kicks all her covers off and sleeps with nothing over her usually.

My lo is a real cold one - she seems to really feel the cold. Prior to going abroad on holiday she was just wearing her nappy to bed and then as we were going to bed we'd but one of those blankets with all the holes in it over her. Since we've come back she's gone into her babygro with the blanket.

I've always been the sort to keep my children hot rather than keeping them cool - but i would suggest that your lo is wearing too much, for me that me. But you know your child - if she is waking up cold then for her she isn't wearing too much. Given that the weather is likely to get colder i would suggest getting a higher tog duvet for her and to put less clothes on her. If she has a natural fibre (not a synthetic that says its breathable) duvet then she will be kept warmer but her body will still be able to breath

Its 23 in LO's room. She is wearing a short sleeved vest and pj's (trousers and long sleeved cotton top) she always kicks her duvet off

harry is in a short sleeve vest, pj's and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. His room is 20 degrees and he never gets too warm. Because we're in a terrace the rooms stay quite airy even when they're warm if that makes sense?!!!!

It's always between 19 and 21 in kians room he always wears a short sleeve vest and either a sleepsuit or pjs. He has a cot bed duvet but 9 times out of 10 he kicks that of and sleeps with nothing over him however he always feels comfortable and warm enough x

My LO runs pretty hot - he is in some long cotton PJs and a super thin grobag. (like T-shirt thin)

We did have lo in a long sleeved baby gro and bottoms in a 1.5 tog sleep bag but from last night we've started using a toddler duvet. He's still in the long sleeve baby gro and bottoms but sometimes when I've checked on him the cover is off and I have to recover him.

A 2.5 tog sounds a bit warm, I would have put lo in that with warm pj's when it was really cold in the winter. xx

Daisy would melt in that! She's wearing a short sleeved vest and long pyjama bottoms. She gets really sweaty easily though, and it's hot in our flat. It's about 19-20 degrees in her room tonight.

It's hot where we live, during the day we keep the house at like 78F. I usually put him to bed in a onesie or a top/shorts.

I love the fact that everyone else knows what temperature their childs room is. I wouldn't have a clue lol. All i know is that during the summer the windows tend to be open to let air in and in the winter they are closed but we don't put the radiator on in lo's room unless it gets really cold.

Katie's room is sitting at 28 degrees, top of the house and a small room.

She wears vest and jamas.

And a 2.5tog quilt and a fleecy blanket.

If it too warm when i check on her i remove her fleece.

Tegan is quite a cold child too. This time last year she was going to bed in a vest/babygro/socks/sleeping bag and then a blanket over her!

Now she is going in PJ's, under a 7.5 tog quilt with a blanket on and she STILL gets cold.

Elliott would be hot if he had all that on (he's generally warm like his Dad!).

At the moment he wears a long sleeved vest a soft tracksuit bottoms (slightly thicker than pyjama bottoms). He has a 4.5 tog quilt.

Our house is quite new so well insulated and we tend to use 4.5 tog duvets all year round.

Hi hun, tonight my dd has gone to bed wearing a vest and pj's and has a 7.5 tog duvet over her. For her, that's enough. I do check on her several times before I go to bed and if she gets hot she does kick her duvet off, so I cover her back over after checking to see how warm she is.

In the morning when she wakes up she feels a nice temperature, not too hot or cold.

Edit to add, that last winter my dd's room got very cold which is why she has a thicker duvet. We've just had the walls insulated so hopefully I won't need to pile the blankets on this year.

I cant believe how it varies so much.. i know you have to take room temp into account but there's a few ladies here who's room temps are the same and babies are in totally different night clothes!!

Right then so tonight I have put maggie in a vest and fleece all in one.. lets see how we get on!!!

Thank you for all your replies.. dont you just love this site!

Both of mine are in normal jamas tonight. Baby gro and a vest for baby and jamas and vest for Madi. Yesterday they were in fleecy sleepsuits though, but i dont put a vest on when they have them on.

My house is like the frickin antartic.

Charlie's in snuggle fit cotton PJ's and 2 tog grobag just now, bedrooms at 21 but can drop during the night. I'll probably just put a vest with this when it gets colder :flow:

Daisy's room is 18-20 degrees at the moment. She wears a short sleeved vest, PJs and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag.
