The past few days my LO has hardly been drinking any of her bottle. She has gone from 5oz every 3 hours, then down to 4oz, and the past few days she has just about managed 3oz every 2.5-3hrs :dohh: Today she has hardly drank anything and hasnt finished any of her bottles, but she has spent the whole day chewing on her fists. All her babygrows are wet are the sleeves were she is sucking them. I even caught her chewing on her bib earlier!

The HV was over this morning and she said 3oz every 2.5-3hrs is fine because she is gaining weight really quick. But then i went to the doctors for my 6 week check this afternoon and mentioned it, and she said she is clearly hungry because she is chewing her hands. But when i said about her not finishing her bottles she told me to offer 3oz every 2 hours instead. How does that make sense? I even mentioned about testing to see if she has a milk allergy and i needed to switch her to soya milk and she just told me to ask the HV. Useless! :dohh:

She has spent literally the whole day screaming! She's slept for about half an hour since she woke up at 8am, and she was awake at like every hour during the night. Ive tried everything but she wont settle. I feel like nothing is working! Shes screaming her head off at the moment i just dont know what to do. I even just tried giving her a TINY piece (not even half) of a rusk mixed with warm milk and she wasnt having any off it. Shes been really sick today aswell, shes puked down herself (and me) about 6 times today really bad!

Does anyone have any advice on what it could be? Im so worried

Reflux!!! This sounds EXACTLY like how my son was - I was convinced there was something majorly wrong!

My son is 14lbs & 3 months old & sometimes he will only have 2oz at a time. You could try switching formulas & if that doesnt help, see if you can get some baby gaviscon prescribed. Since my son started on his meds, he has been a lot better - I used to get projectile vomited on every feed, but now its only occasional :)

Very early pre-teething? Their teeth move around under their gums and that can bother them - if your own mouth is sore you don't generally feel like eating do you?

I was going to say both of the above! Fist chewing could be an early teething sign. Dd was similar though and we found a change in formula did wonders.

What teat size are you using? Maybe try going up a size and see if that helps - she might just be frustrated that the milk isn't coming out fast enough x

I mentioned early teething to my doctor and got laughed at! I knew I wasn't mad, its true what they say about motherly instincts you know! And I'm using the variflow teats for tommee tippee bottles which is what is advised for my formula. Are there any faster ones then?

Switch formulas and see how that goes.
Then I would ask about having reflux. My son was the same way before he was diagnosed with it.
