Apologies if I sound like an idiot. I just have no idea where to start! I'm just finishing my nursing training (in August) and I have a 14m old. Hopefully I'll manage to secure a nursing post after my training ends. Things are not working with my husband. We have talked things over sensibly and we are going to try counselling, but honestly - I just don't think it's going to help much. We never had a massive spark anyway, now we are more like room mates. There are too many issues to go into and he acknowledges that things should have been different. Unfortunately I don't think that the changes that he's making will be enough for my daughter and I. I've drawn a line under the past but I am just not prepared for any of us to live in this kind of environment when we could get by better if we were separated.

Basically, I need to know... What kind of benefits and practical things do I need to address if/when things come to a head? I've always been a bit clueless about this sort of stuff.

Thanks x

Hi :hugs: I'm going to presume you're in the UK. If you have a google for entitled too, there's a benefit calculated that tells you what your entitled too. You can fill it in as if your earning nurses wages to see what you'd get. Generally you'd get housing benefit and tax credits.
