What do you feed your baby meat wise?

I was scared about giving DS meat too. Now with DD I just sling a chicken drumstick on her tray and let her go to town :haha:. She gets on best with meat thats een cooke in the slow cooker as its really tender. Sausage caserole is a hit, she likes bolognese (how she eats the mince with her two tiny teeth I don't know but her nappies attest that she does! :haha:), chicken pie (the chicken is roasted and shredded), and slices of meat (lamb, chicken and pork) when we have a roast dinner.

Ohh ok Hun, well with the meats we started on tender chicken slices and then minced meat he now loves sausages and ham too. Not braved steak yet but I'm doing a casserole now for ease when I'm at work and we will try him with that too. Hope all goes well with introducing meat xxx

Lucas struggled a bit with mince initially but every baby is different. It just takes a bit of confidence and some trial and error.

Chicken chunks, ham, mince

At that age, we started with small pieces of chicken or ground beef, etc.

Now she eats just about whatever!

:)

Thanks everyone! I feel lots better now :) she'll be having some sausage for tea :happydance: xx

I was scared about meat too but I just sat on my hands and let her get on with it :haha:

She's had chicken (breast cut into strips and drumsticks just on the bone), mince, duck leg, steak, pork, beef...

She's been fine with it all. As pp said steak isn't as scary as it sounds as they can't get through it so just gum it a lot.

Good luck she will do fine :D

I don't even know why I'm so scared about it haha! She was knackered by tea time yesterday so I didn't want to give her meat because she was being a wriggly worm :dohh: I'll do her some meat for lunch today and try her then haha xx

My little man goes mad for sausages (including bratwurst!), burgers (including frikadellas) and all kinds of meat. We're BLW (predominently) as he doesn't like much now and much prefers to use his own hands (he's 7 1/2 months and we started - very slowly- at 5 months as I was going back to work). His Dad is Scottish so it's meat everyday... We decided to delay haggis and black pudding until he's 1.

You should see him in restaurants! We take him for dim sum all the time (I'm 1/2 Chinese) and the waiting staff just love to watch him gum furiously at his beef ho fun! Also - Yo Sushi! is very baby friendly (no - we don't feed him raw fish...) and their little noodle and fruit bowls are ideal. He also likes to watch the plates go round too, but you have to make sure he can't reach them. Gets expensive otherwise.

Hooray for BLW! :D

Strips of meat seem to be the easiest to handle and the least messy - strips of roast chicken, beef, lamb. We also do baked or pan-fried fish sometimes cut into fist size chunks, though she much prefers the chicken or beef. My husband also makes bolognese sauce for pasta and beef meatballs for her. And I've given her tuna and mayo with sweetcorn before too. It's not 'meat' but we also do quorn sausages (as we're Jewish and don't eat pork). Actually she loves those. They really can manage it just fine. Start with strips as those are the easiest to handle. My daughter has never once choked on anything and she's had meat from 6 months.
