What do you put in a hamper?

My OH is meant to be in charge of 3 peoples gifts(not including mine),
his dads and step mums and his nans, and his bloody useless i'm sure he doesn't get that i want to get it out the way so we can enjoy things in christmas months not shopping

so i decided he should do them a hamper so far
i've put in it
Shortbread
and a photo of LO and stepdaughter


any ideas


i wish he'd do it for himself, but his not doing it.

mug with hot chocolate and marshmallows?
book?
something made by your step-daughter - maybe out of clay and a handprint picture by your daughter?
slippers?
alcohol?
sweets?

depending on their interests as you can always theme them around that.

Ahh thats a nice idea. OH mum or sister wouldnt have anything like that so I just dont shop for them. I am going to make one for my mum though cos she will love it.

we used to make hampers for my grandparents but they were specifically food hampers. some things i can think of are:

nice jars of condiments, jams etc (maybe you could make some of these yourself?)
nice jars of olive oil/balsamic vinegar
chocolates/sweets
wine/spirits
christmas pudding/cake
cheese's
crackers/biscuits
some nice tea/coffee
anything that will keep really

if your wanting things other than food and drink, maybe:

a board game you can all play together
jigsaw
candles
mulled wine set
a blanket/rug (this can help bulk it out as well
cook book
i also like the idea of personalised things from the children, maybe a hand painted mug?
