We've never had stockings before, but I want some this year! So simple question, what exactly do you put in? Does everyone have one? My little one will be 3, so far I've got some chocolate coins, and crayons... That's it

My daughter will be 3 in feb and this is what I'm putting in hers -

choc coins
choc lollies
box of raisins
haribos or skittles
peppa pig bracelets and necklace
Toby engine for her wooden track
peppa pig mini books
toothbrush with a character on
peppa pig card game
slipper socks

Today I saw some bottles of coloured bath foam and stuff that makes the water go a different colour, so might get one of those too.

Basically small things, cos her stockings not huge

We only started stockings since lo came along. I buy for both me and my DH and will probably do the same things every year

a book, a dvd, a cd, one small gift (a can't be bothered to cook money tin for me and a scratch-able travel map for dh) and chocolate/nakd christmas cracker.

For Sam I put little gifts and chocolate coins. This year he is having:

2 corgi planes
2 corgi mini metal diggers
1 disney cars matchbox car
Cars DVD
Peppa Pig Snap cards
little wooden transport dominos
zoggs flipper things for the swimming pool.

He is a little car/train/plane obsessed though

My lo will be 19 months and so far:
toy airplane
crayons
finger paints
stickers
bubble bath
bath toy (floating tea pot set)

I may pick up a few more little things, but I generally do small, inexpensive things for the stocking.

So far I've got DS (who will be 3 in January) a chocolate reindeer, some chocolate coins, a wooden train, some small schleich animals and a train whistle :)

Thanks ladies! I've got chocolate coins, and crayons. She'll need a new toothbrush soon, so I'll pop that in and probably some bubbles and a new face cloth x

Gosh now I'm on the spot I can't remember most of it. They all have around 10 items each.

I do stockings for all of us.

For the girls I go for small things that cost no more than $10 each, usually under $5. I usually do things like:

holiday socks
toothbrushes
a few items of candy
books
toy cars
lego minifigures
small plush animals
play dough
other small toys

For DH and I usually I go with things like:

chocolates
mini bottles of liquor
paperback books
dvds
card games
lotions
incense
votive candles

I do the same as I had as a child which is fruit (always a banana in the door if the stocking, an apple, a satsuma and an orange - think this was because I wasn't forced to eat breakfast!) as well as the walnut my hubby always had, a Lindt reindeer and one small gift. We always opened these in bed and the grown ups and children get the same (the gift obviously differs from person to person)

I can't believe we're the only family that do boring fruit stockings... I thought everybody did.

The other gifts including what I'd call 'stocking fillers' such as crayons etc, go under the tree.

I get jewelry & perfume & lotion & chocolate
DH gets pistachios & cologne & lotion & Chapstick
DS gets sweets & books & lotion & small stuffies

Oh yes, we always put in a satsuma and some mixed nuts I their shells and a handful of chocolates from the tubs. Just because the boys saw an old Disney Christmas thing where Santa put in fruit, nuts and sweets so they expected that lol i don't put other sweets/chocolates in because I do a little sweetie hamper each.

I have a checklist of:

Chocolate coins
Jelly sweets
Chocolate figure
2 small toys
Toiletries item
Craft item
Socks
Christmas related item

I just adjust according to age and interest.

My kids also get a book, a DVD and new PJs which are put on on Christmas eve so they're ideas too.
