Hey Everyone

I have been bobbing aorund for ages reading all your posts but haven't posted in a while.

But I am back and I just wondered....what do you all tell your work regarding scans, appointments etc etc ??

As things are now finally starting to progess for us I will need time out here and there and I am not sure I fancy telling them what for. I know honesty is the best policy but I think its so private and also I wouldnt want my boss to think oh well she will get pregnant and leave anyways and then stop investing in my future. I know this shouldnt happen but I have seen it before.

I have just had surgery for my endo and had masses of bloods etc done in the months before as well as my inital FS tests and my boss and HR were really cool. So I may well just play the future tests off as continued monitoring ??? Its difficult hey!!!

I would be keen to know what you lovely ladies have said, any issues you have had etc.

Bumb xx

Sorry can't help as I work in a family business and they know the situation, but I would suggest passing it off as continued monitoring if you don't want your bosses to know. If I was in the situation where I worked for someone else I don't think I'd want them to know it was TTC related. Good luck. x

can't you be vague about what you're doing -- a medical procedure that will require monitoring? You're not required to tell them exactly what it is , are you? Tell them it is nothing serious, but it is something you want to take care of. I doubt they would drill you to find out exactly what the medical procedure it is...

Hey hun

I've been up front with work - figured it would be best in case i turned into a two-headed beast and got emotional! Plus if it didn't work, they would be the ones to help me deal with functioning day to day.
Only my direct supervisor will be aware of when the actual cycle takes place but other than that my whole team know we are waiting on starting our IVF.
Good luck :hugs:

Because of the amount of time i needed off (folly tracking etc) I was completely honest with my boss. I work for a massive company and TBH by telling them what was going on, I think i was better off overall :)

hey hun

I also have endo, and i had time off (sick leave) due to surgery. I was upfront with my manager she was ok with the time off to go to appointments and if hr ever asked we always said it was time off to have tests for my endo and not IVF. My manager was really good about it but i doubt she realised how much i really needed off.

I've told my line manager because, like rachelle said, I'm worried about what all the IVF treatment will do to me! That and I think they were already getting suspicious about all the hospital appointments. Didn't feel particularly comfortable telling him - you kind of want to tell them when you're pregnant, not when you're TTC! I told him I didn't want our senior manager or anyone else to know, so he's been sworn to secrecy.

After we had our first appointment with the FS I decided to tell my office manager. I wasnt planning on telling anyone at work but I was worrying about getting out of work for tests etc. I only told her and asked her to keep it to herself as I didnt want everyone to know. She was really good about it and tbh its taken a weight off my mind. I know I can ask for time off and she will understand why, with out me having to tell white lies (which im not very good at!) Good luck! x

Thanks hun. My actual boss is really good as she doesnt want the details. I am off sick at the moment after having cysts removed and my fourth excision op. I think I will go with the endo. Thanks so much
