I love love sunny. But maybe find a more adult elegant formal name. Only because I work with a young lady named Scout (to kill a mockingbird) and she says that she is always struggling to be taken seriously. I also have known an adult Bambi and I couldn't help but think of cartoons whenever I said her name.
Hmm, Sunny was my grandmothers name so I don't have that childish/cartoony association with it but it's nice to hear others opinions. I know I want to name my baby after her if it's a girl, I just don't know if I want to use her actual name or just the first letter. We are thinking of the name Summer as of now but I'm trying to consider other options.
I'm not a big lover of either but if I had to pick it'd be Sunny- though I'd personally use it as a middle name. I think using your grandmothers name is a lovely idea.
I was going to say, you could probably get away with calling her Sunny as a nn if you went with Summer. Might be a bit of a stretch but I think it works.
I agree with the others, I think sunny is a nice nickname for summer. I wouldn't personally use it as a name in it's own right. Sorry but I hate Sonya!!
