What do you think of this name?

I think we have decided on the name Avalynn for our little girl. Nickname Ava. I though I was so sure about Madeline, but eventually I just couldn't see my daughter being Madeline, and now Avalynn is the only name that appeals to me. My DS and OH love it too, but I know people aren't going to be super fond of it because they havent really heard it much before. I dont really think i care what other people think about it, i just want to kind of get a good idea on how people feel about it on here before we announce, I guess you could say preparing myself lol Also struggling with a middle name that goes along with it.

I love it. Considered that for my little girl. Originally her name was going to be Ava, but we found that too common around here so we were going to go with Avalyn, but decided on Ashlyn instead.
Very pretty name.

I love it!!! My daughters name is Avaleigh, I love the name Ava but it's too short for me so I added the Leigh to make it so I can shorten to Ava, loads of people hated the name, my mum especially didn't like it and laughed about it, I didn't care because me and my OH loved it, and I still love it I couldn't imagine calling her anything else. People got used to it and quite frankly I wouldn't have cared if they didn't, she is my daughter and it's my choice of name. If you love the name Hun then have it, don't even worry about others opinions because they really don't matter x

I was thinking about Grace, its the only one so far i like enough. I do like Marie but i am afraid it would become an issue, my family's girl name vs OHS family and I dont want anyone feel left out (Anne & Marie- if we picked a shorter first name middle would be Anne-Marie but I feel like Avalynn needs a single syllable middle name)

It's nice! I do prefer Ava alone or Madeline, but it's a perfectly good name with no reason to not be used really! If you and the family love it, it's a great choice

I think it's great. Ava was one of our names, but it is pretty popular round here and OH has a little cousin called Eva so it was too similar.

We went with ***** (see signature) instead (the 'e' is silent).

I agree with the single syllable middle name. Here are some that intially sprung to mind:

Claire, Belle, Faye, Rose, Gwen ...

Grace is really nice too - another name we would have liked to use, but baby's surname is Smith so it didn't flow at all!
