Arianna ?

Do you instantly think of Ariana Grande ?

I didn't but OH did. Do you think other people would make that association.

I plan on pronouncing it differently like Are-e-arna rather than A-re-ana like Ariana Grande.

I know in 10-15 years no one will remember Ariana Grande.

I really love this name. Any opinions ? I think there will be some cute nicknames like Ari, Aria (without the PLL association) and Anna or even Annie.

Thanks for any opinions.

I love that name too. I would just use it, I did think of her but it wasn't instant and I don't think everyone would make that connection as she's not been about that long!xx

I like the name but yes - my first thought was the singer...

Thanks ladies. Think its been bumped to the top of our girl list :) the only name both OH and I agree on :)

It was my #1 choice 8 yrs ago when I was pregnant, before finding out I was having a boy. My concern is that I like it pronounced are-ee-on-uh but some ppl kept saying air-ee-on-uh. Being that my name is often mispronounced, I am trying to avoid giving my children names that will constantly need to be corrected too.

Aside from pronunciation confusion - I think it's a gorgeous name! I do think ppl may think of Ariana Grande but that's not a bad association by any means - and I doubt she'll be well known 10 yrs down the road.

i instantly thought of the singer. i also think of harry potter. its a pretty name though so if you like it, go for it x

I like it. Didn't think of the singer. I would only be reminded if it was spelt with one "n". I think you're pretty safe with two.

I love that name. No, didn't think of the singer.

The first thing I thought of was Ariana Grande, however I don't think the majority of people would, and she won't be around forever either. Every name going will have an association of some kind to somebody (unless it's completely made up) so I wouldn't worry.

It may not be your style, but if the association does bother you, how about Ariadne instead? Could use nn Aria, Ari, Addy.

I thought of a friend's cute little girl when I hear that name :cloud9:

if you love that name, use it.

I didn't even know who Ariana Grande was until I read the comments here. :) I loved the name as soon as I read it. Really pretty and by the time she grows up I don't believe that Ariana Grande will be a household name :)

(I listen to Classic Rock only) :haha:

She popped into my head but by the time it would matter in her life Ariana Grande will be irrelevant so I definitely think it's okay to use. I also thought of Harry Potter but imo that makes it better

I think it's really pretty but then I like Eliana & Liliana which I guess are similar
