We've picked Isaac for a boy and Eliza for a girl. What do people think? Most friends etc seem to like Isaac but dont say much about Eliza.[/CENTER]

I like Isaac although it feels very American to me. Not that that's a bad thing at all! Just wouldn't choose it myself as we have no US connections. Beautiful name though.
To be honest, I'm not too keen on Eliza. I much prefer Elisa (Eh-Lee-Sah), I think it's softer and more feminine. But it's your baby! If you love them, go for them, doesn't matter what everyone else thinks!

They're lovely names, I used to have a friend called Eliza and she always used to get comments about how nice her name was :) i think it's a very humble and pretty name :)

They are lovely names, I really like them both

I really like Eliza

Isaac isn't for me but if you like it then you should go for it!! xx

Really like them both :) Eliza is a very sweet name xxx

I like them both. I think it Eliza is not too popular but not "out there." Isaac is a nice solid biblical name.

i like both :)
ive always liked Isaac, but OH doesnt as we're not religious, hmph

I like the names Isaac and Eliza. Eliza is very pretty.

For my own personal reasons I didn't want a "religious" name - having said that OH and I saw no reason to to rule out any name just because it appeared in the bible. As a compromise we ruled out any names that has reference to god in the meaning. Our son is Ethan, who was a wise man in the bible but the name itself means solid/enduring. That's fine by me. Isaac means laughter, so it's on our shortlist if we have another boy. would that be a compromise for your OH?

thanks Whiby :)
i shall bear that in mind when bfp comes! i also like Isaac spelt Izaak, which sort of takes away the religious value...

My nearly twelve year old is called Isaac and has been since my 20 week scan with him lol So yes its a name I really love and Eliza is both very pretty and girly

Why don't you just call her Elizabeth and shorten it to Eliza? Personally I'm not too keen on shortened versions of names being used as proper names e.g. Jim instead of James but then it is your choice not mine.

We had Issac on our short list but hubby isn't keen. Eliza is pretty I reckon. I went to school with a girl called Aliza and she was very smart and pretty with long, long hair.

I like them both, two of my cousins have little girls called Eliza, I think its very cute

Eliza is on my list for a girl... either that or Elisa (el-ee-za) I think they are both equally pretty.
