hi, well my sis has give me her travel cot to use as a cot in my room everyone says theres no point spending money on a cot wen i can use that its in good condition and comfy for baby sleep in im not goining put him in to sleep in it till hes bout 5 month but i keep thinking i should just buy a proper cot even tho it would leave me skint what do u think am i being selfish xx

if its in good condition, and you dont have the money to spend on something new, theres nothing wrong with using it!!! hand me downs can be life savers sometimes!!

lol, Id get one, Not sure id want my LO in a travel cot all the time, But thats just me, Might aswel throw my cot out the window lol, my LO prefers sleeping in with us anyway

Why dont you get a second hand cot if your skint?

Or get a moses basket and then a cot once LO is here? Thats what im doing

I tried putting Liam in a travel cot when we stayed at my mum's..he just looked sooo uncomfortable. If I were you I'd buy a cheap second hand cot (new mattress) I got my cot on ebay for £5 and the mattress (inc delivery) cost £40. I had to buy screws because the woman had lost them, so the cot cost a total of £50.

I would use the travel cot, maybe wrap a quilt around the base to soften it up! but deffo... and save money for a nice bed when baby gets to that stage! xx

yeah! more or less probably just the bottom station, but I obv do't know what she has...

but, its in place of a cot (us-crib) not a moses basket/ crib (us-bassinet)... xx

When using a travel cot as a cot it doesn't last very long. Once baby can stand they can be easily tipped ove (or rocked over until they tip!!). Also travel cots such as graco recommend in the instructions that a mattress or extra padding below baby should not be used with a travel cot.

I only know this info as I wanted to buy a travel cot to use instead of a cot.

I got my cot from www.gumtree.com for FREE! It is lovely! I just need to buy my new mattress. xo
