my maternity notes say CEPH where she marks if bubs is engaged what does this mean?

my midwife always puts that for me to im gona keep readin for the answers :) but i think it may be head down but not engaged?! wild guess tho xx

Think thats right.

She wrote that on my notes on friday 'ceph' - its short for cephalic which in terms of the position of the baby means head down

Ceph means head down position ladies!

it means head down position-short for cephalic. It doesn't mean engaged though x

It means head down and palable mean not engaged (she can feel the top of the babies head)

My baby is Ceph & Lot, so thanks :)

Apparently hes head down but sideways. With his face pointing to my right hand side and ears to my front and back. I don't know how to get him to turn from there!!

On my notes it says ceph too. So its good to know he has turned already. But under lie it says 'long'. Does anyone know what that means?

Im Ceph and long- it means she is head down and straight I think- my little girls feet and bum are under my ribs (painful at times!) I think it is good, we just have to wait for them to be engaged now!

I thought it was good that they are head down and facing your right side, isnt' that the 'optimal foetal position' for labour that you read about?
wish i knew how to persuade them to engage though!

oh really? I just assumed that head down, facing the back was the best!

Thats great if it is! I'll google it now :D

It means they are in the perfect position, head down raring to go!

Oh that's good! I really want a water birth so as long bubs plays ball then I should be all set for it.
