Is it possible that it shows you have referals because someone Googled a topic and found a thread that you started, and made a profile? That would kind of be like they signed up because of you, and therefore it would be like a referal.

A referral is when someone joins up and puts your username as the person who referred you.

The only way it works is if they type in your name.
