i thought i would ask for a general day menu as my ped. told us to stop giving him formula and just feed him solids.
she said that last month.

this sounded very weird to me so i did not do it.
i always let my son suggests me what and how he wants to eat.

so far i give him

breakfast: formula and cereal, 210ml plus 2 mini spoons cerals (about 10g)

lunch: formula, 210. sometimes with rice cereal

snack: fruit or yogurt or pudding

dinner: veggies, meat or fish
or some rice/noodles with veggies
water/juice

before bed: 120ml formula plus rice cereal

i noticed he is not too happy about the lunch bottle, so i am slowly introducing another meal. he gets some bread now at mid morning.

he also sleeps pretty well at night, from 8 til 8.30-9am. so breakfast and lunch are pretty close together.

i dont feel confortable to drop all the liquids. specially because he doesnt drink too much during the day (not at all sometimes and if so only formula).

im curious to know how you all do it! :)

My daughter is 11.5 months now, but she's been eating roughly the same since about 10 months which is when her eating really picked up.

She has:

Before breakfast: about 120 ml of formula

Breakfast:bagel with cream cheese (usually about 1/4 of a normal bagel, I eat the rest!), or shredded wheat in milk (maybe 10 mini shredded wheat), or a small bowl of porrdige, then usually some fruit, either 2/3 of a banana or a clementine.

Lunch: a small sandwich (1/2 a normal sandwich) or a small jacket potato with cheese or some ravioli or a slice of quiche or some roast chicken or beef, then usually a veg (peas, sweet corn, baked sweet potato), and then something sweet (piece of fruit, yogurt, fromage frais, maybe an oat bar or some dried fruit).

After lunch: about about 120-150 ml of formula

Dinner: pretty much the same as lunch

Before bed: another 120-150 ml of formula

She didn't eat much before about 10 months though (we do BLW) and she'd been sick for about the month before that so just wasn't eating well. But at 10 months, it really picked up. I think keep doing what you're doing and offer lots of different things for him to try. And ignore your ped's advice to cut out formula. That's terrible advice and he obviously doens't know what he's talking about. All babies need formula or breastmilk as their primary source of nutrition for at least the first year. After that, most still have that or cow's milk several times a day.

Breakfast- dry cereal, yogurt, fruit pancakes, toast with jam or marmite or peanut butter, potato cakes, crumpet, soft fruit. Occasional porridge but really doesn't enjoy being spoon fed!

Lunch - sandwich, sausage roll, soup and toast, dinner leftovers. Puffed crisps, cheese cubes, fruit, raw vegetable sticks (more for flavour than actual nutrition) fruit juice sweeties, yoghurt, biscuits.

Dinner- tomato pasta, mac cheese, sausage & mash, bubble squeak, chips, eggs, quiche, chilli (non spicy) pizza. Eats vegetables, salad, potatoes, mushy peas, baked beans, peas etc with dinner. Dessert is ice cream, biscuits, fruit, homemade cakes, puddings, cookies.

Snacks- toast, crumpet, fruit, biscuits usually

Breast fed morning and evening. Won't drink any milk at all!
