what happens at a pre assesment for lap&dye??

hey ladies has anyone had a pre assesment for there lap &dye if so what happends and what do i take with me? got my lap and dye in 6 weeks so have to have my pre assesment soon thankyou muchly xxxx

I had a pre-assessment before my lap and dye. They really didn't do much to be honest. They took a blood test and they swabbed me for MRSA. The swabs were with a cotton bud which they put up one of my nostrils and from my groin, around my knickerline basically. They also checked my heart beat with an ECG (I think that's what it's called - they put a thing on your finger which monitors your heart). Oh and they took my blood pressure. I think they weighed me as well but I can't remember, despite the fact that it was only a few months ago! With regard to what to take with you, they told me to take any medication that I was on (which was nothing) and they asked me to bring a urine sample which they never took from me. Good luck. yep, I had: +repeat blood tests for thyroid, plus basic bloods for iron/blood group
+ MRSA swabs +blood pressure +pulse monitoring +chat about what would happen/answering any Qs +going through my medical history, any previous ops, allergies +goin through any reactions of family members to general anathestic +takig wee sample to check for infection and preg. It took about 20 mins.

At mine i just got general obs done such as blood pressure and weight and that was it. i think its just to check that your fit and well for the op! good luck fo it, hope it brings good news
