hi girls, please can i ask your advice?

I'm due to get my third CD21 progesterone test on friday, if they're still 'not quite right' what will happen next? would there be more tests?

I've heard a few of you mention clomid, through your experiences would you lose the weight before taking it? assuming of course that they don't make me lose weight before they'd give it me.

how do you find working at the same time as taking clomid, are there any side effects?

many thanks x

Hi Hunny,
How long are your cycles generally and have you ever charted your temps to see if you ovulate? I quite often have longer cycles where I only ovulate on cd20, so a cd21 test doesnt show that I ovulate as its done too early. Therefore do you think you have had your cd21 test at the right time?

love fluffy x

hi fluffystar,

thanks for replying.

i generally have a 26/27 day cycle and i have all the signs of ovulation around days 12 to 14 (ewcm, twingeing). this month I've started temping (from mid-cycle) and using digital OPK's i only got a positive on CD18 but this definitely didn't fit in with my temperatures but followed some horrific pain on my right side the previous night.

i don't know really, if the positive OPK on CD18 indicated ovulation in a day or 2, and the spotting I got starting last night is AF that means I have had a 27 day cycle with a 8, possibly 9 day leuteal phase.

thats not good news either, is it? tbh though, i don't think i can trust my thermometer, it gave me a reading of 34.5 today

i'm very confused.

Hey Elsie,
It took me a few charts before I properly understood what my body was doing so do stick with it. I find doctors a little less that helpful sometimes particularly when you dont fit into a nice little box for them.
I never really got on with OPKs and found charting more useful and now have learnt what signs are specific to me to indicate impending ovulation or to confirm that I have ovulated.

An 8 or 9 day luteal phase may be a bit long but see if this is consistent or not. Mine is generally 12 days but I also have the odd 10 and even a 9 but that was on a long cycle where ovulation was delayed so I knew it wasnt a great cycle!!

I would gather some info for a couple of months and if you think there are any issues then definitely go and see the doc again. Though of course if your doc wants to look into things after your cd21 tests then thats good but I would still keep on charting as it wont hurt.

Good luck xx
