Hi There,

Me and my hubby have been TTC for such a long time. We started acupuncture in late January but still no luck. This month I started spotting at 11dpo (yesterday) which was a kick in the teeth and full on today.

I'm heartbroken to the point that I feel suicidal and have lost my faith in God, especially as my younger sister is due to give birth next month.

However, me and DH are 26 years old and it's understanding the NHS won't help until we reach the 30 years old mark.

We've been to the GP about 3 times and each time they really can't be bothered and say to 'just relax'.

If I go back and demand something - do any of you know what they can do at our age, if anything?

Thank you for all your help, I know you can understand.

Sounds like you should ask to see a different doctor, the NHS can absolutely help you at your age. A friend had a successful NHs IVF cycle aged 24. I am being referred for IVF aged 27 again on the NHS. The criteria varies depending on your area but generally you need to have been trying for more than a year & have a BMI if less than 30. Good luck! X

Also, I meant to say that I bleed mid cycle too & they are doing a hysteroscopy this month to check for polyps & remove them if they find any. This is after checking my hormone levels. See if they'll do the same. X

They can do blood tests!! I had my original ones done aged 24!

They will check hormone levels (FSH and LH) on CD3 and 7DPO which if you have a 28 day cycle is CD21 - they should work out what day is best to do the second 1 based on your cycle (for me it's CD 19 - 23 day cycle). I'm in the process of having all my redone, as it's been 10 years since they were done, and i go on friday (CD 17) and tuesday (CD21) as CD19 falls on bank holiday sunday (great timing lol)

They can also do swabs and stuff to check for STD (even if you know your free of these, if you get refered they will insist on having them done so best to get them out the way) I'm having those done this morning in about 45 mins!

unfortunately NHS IVF is a postcode lottery, you have to be 30 in my area too, but alas i no longer qualify as my DH has 2 children from a previous relationship... it sucks big time!

good luck!
