When you going to have a c section? What happens before the section? What happens after the section? Will I hold the baby once his out? I'm geting a spinal,so when do they give me it?
I know to many question but I'm having a c in 2 days. Please tell me your experience

Thanks in advance

In uk ,
They get you in early give you a rough time as they dont know if theyll have an emergency , youll have blood pressure checked , bloods and a drip fitted theyll monitor baby for bit then wheel or walk you down when you get in you meet everyone they then ask when you ate and drank ect then they give you some iccy medicine to settle your tummy I think then they hook your drips up then use local anasetic in your back to numb it they ask your hight for the spinal make sure you know it !! I said I was 5"6 but I was 4"11 so couldn't breath or blink amd bits weren't numb then then lay you back and pull sheet over then begin feels odd but not painful ,

Once babys out they then show you then arger spores are done I wasnt able to hold my lady till op was done oh did
After your sewn up you move to recovery with bady and oh they check you okay

I was then moved to recovery ward were cuddled her I was in bed for 24hrs then was allowed up for shower xx

But will say best expirence of my life better than the 3day labour I had !! Xx

Mine was different as it was an emcs.

I had my epidural topped up then they sprayed ice cold spray on my arm so I knew what it felt Kline then started spraying it from my knees to my neck to see if I could feel it. They did the same then with what looked like cocktail sticks!

They put the sheets up and got on with it and they told me when they could see baby which was reassuring. All you do is lye there with your birthing partner right next to your head. When baby was out they took her (with OH) next door to be heckled by the doctor then they brought her back to me within. Inures where they weighed and measured her by my head so I could see. LO was passed to OH, I couldn't hold her until I was moved to recovery and tbh there isn't much space on the bed when you're lying flat out to hold baby

I was moved to recovery for an hour whilst they monitored heart rate to and then back to labour. I was up and about within a couple of hours (although very slow on my feet!!) as I was encouraged to do this and I wanted to. I was in hospital for three days following the emcs (the actual op took around 1.5 hours from start to finish).

This is my first but I found it very positive, probably because I'd been in labour nearly three days and felt like I was dying! Next time I'm electing a section :) the drs and midwives also stuck to my birth plan (I wanted OH to tell me the sex of LO which I thought was really good especially as it was an emergency section

Good luck Hun you'll be fine.
Xx

i had my section last week, very different to the previous one. I walked to theatre, had a canula in my hand, lay down curled up for the spinal ( didnt feel it!) , they put drapes up and started, felt pressure and pulling and then tehy dropped the drapes so i actually saw her being born. They pulled her out, quickly wiped her down and placed her on my bare chest with a warm towel over us. After a while once stitchng they took her with her dad weighed and he dressed her. I would ahve then gone into recovery, held and fed her.....but that bit went a bit wrong, but i still got to have her back with me when wheeled to my room. breastfed as soon as in the ward. :) an amazing experience, even though it wasnt my choice to have another section im so glad i didnt try a vbac and had a section, its healed a lot of previous scars :)
