Is that the same as oxygen.. Or is it like laughing gas.. I Have never heard of that before? And what does it do for the mom/baby during labor??I feel clueless..lol
It's laughing gas, makes you feel a bit spaced out and dizzy while you are breathing it, then wears off after a few seconds. Timing is key to get it in your system before the contraction peaks, I kept leaving it too late lol. The downside for me was it made me really thirsty x
I don't think gas and air is offered in the U.S. anymore. Maybe in some places. But I had never heard of it until the ladies explained it to me as well.
Onemore, I'd never heard of it until I came on this site, either. Just wondering, though, since they use it in a dentist's office, couldn't it be requested during labor as well?
It's referred to as Entonox here in NZ. It's a mixture of oxygen and Nitrous Oxide but not very strong and for many it doesn't work. It didn't work for me : (
