What is the most painful part of labour?

crowning and pushing him through after crowning was honestly a nightmare... if they had said "we'll push him back in and give you a c-section" I would have immediately agreed...

hahah i actually asked them to do that!!! :laugh2::laugh2:

My LO was for the most part in the "correct position" but when she occasionally turned to be in a back-to-back position it was the worst. If you can get away without back labour I think it's not too bad. Most of my contractions weren't as bad as my period pain -but then my periods always felt a lot like back labour!!

Delivery wasn't hard in comparison. It stung a bit when crowning (like ring of fire when pooing after spicy food - but the biggest poo ever!!)

Both my births were back to back but totally poles apart!
1st baby - head crowning stung but the contractions were bad - I had an epidural
2nd baby - the contractions were painful, not terrible but bearable her head didnt crown! I only had g&a that time round

first part of my labour i was fine and gas and air did the trick. i wasnt dialating.or shall i say i got to 7cms to go back down to 5cms and my waters wouldnt break on their own.they broke my waters which was fine and then very quickly the contractions become alot more painful.i had a back to back labour and Cody couldnt drop down thanks to his cord being wrapped around his neck.not that they knew that until they pulled him out.they left me fighting pretty much a constant contraction hopeing i would dialate on my own but after a few hours it was obvious i wasnt (this is when i was at my worse and felt the most pain)i eneded up begging for a epidural as i was exaused and almost passing out from the amout of gas and air i was taking in.i had my epidural toped up as it took away the pain but i could still feel the contractions.if i wasnt so tired i prob would have just got on with it and not had the top up.i was on the hormone drip to get me dialating to.theres no way i could of given birth naturally.he just wasnt budging and everytime he tryed to his heart rate servearly dropped.i eneded up being rushed into theater to have an emergancy delivery.i wasnt fussed as by this point i couldnt really feel anything or pain and i was to tired and told them to do what ever they wanted as i didnt care.which they was happy about as they could just get on with their jobs to get my son born safely with out making sure i was ok with what they was doing as they was doing it. i think if i had a normal labour and birth i would have breezed threw it on just gas and air as i was doing great on it at 7cms dialated before everything went wrong lol

For me the worst part was the pushing. he was back to back and I had to have forceps it was such a scary experience. It was just torture. The contractions for me I found they weren't as bad as everyone made out. They took my breath away and yes I screamed but apart from that! xxx

The contractions were the most painful part of labour.

I had an epidural when I was 6-7cm dilated and had total blockage and no pain for the rest of the delivery. It didn't hurt when she came out, I could feel pressure, but no pain at all.

Definitely the contractions. I had back labour because LO was OP, and the bit before I got the gas and air was terrible. When I started using the entonox I was coping.

I was still demanding an epi but it was too late- I was 8-9 cm by the time they admitted me. I only wanted it because I was so scared of the crowning! But to be honest, I can only vaguely remember it so I don't think it was too bad.

Pushing was bloody knackering, worse because she was sunny side up.
